We have a new recommendation from Christinap-- our first non-editor pick. If anyone's interested in some historical fiction, it looks to be yours! ;) Reply #22. Nov 17 13, 12:26 PM |

I finished reading "The Hypnotist" - a nail biter! Now I get to read it again, because I was so interested in the mystery and how everything fit together that I didn't think much about questions to write. I want to have one question about the writer(s), but most will be about the book. Is that okay? Reply #23. Nov 18 13, 7:40 AM |

Sure, that's fine. Quizzes that are mostly about the writer belong in People, but one or two question crossover isn't a problem. If it's possible to slant the "writer" question in a book-leaning direction, even better. Reply #24. Nov 18 13, 9:33 AM |

If you enjoyed 'The Hypnotist', try the next work in the Joona Linna series-- 'The Nightmare'. Much creepier, IMO. :) Reply #25. Nov 18 13, 5:24 PM |

Here's zippolover's quiz on one of Kyle's books. http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/Literature/Mark-Z-Danielewskis-House-of-Leaves-364576.html Reply #26. Dec 01 13, 12:34 AM |

I am waiting for "Eight Million Ways to Die" by Lawrence Block to be delivered. I hope that it is an easier read than the last book :) Reply #27. Dec 01 13, 2:21 AM |

Well, it's considerably more straightforward, that's for sure. Reply #28. Dec 01 13, 10:04 AM |

"Eight Million Ways To Die" is on its way to the editors. It brings my number of quizzes to fifty - I thought that I would never get there! Reply #30. Dec 04 13, 11:00 AM |

Thank you :) I hope the new one if/when it gets out there, does better than the "House of Leaves", which has hardly been played. Reply #32. Dec 04 13, 3:30 PM |

I think that if authors are looking for these quizzes to get an abundance of plays, they're barking up the wrong tree. A lot of Literature quizzes on single books will really only be played by people who've read them and people who're just playing it for points/rewards. I've had quizzes on single books sit below twenty ratings for upwards of three years. Then again, I've had some of my best ratings on single books and some of my worst. Reply #33. Yes, no one plays a quiz on a book unless they have read it. Expect low but steady progress, as the quizzes on these books will continue to be highlighted. Reply #34. Dec 04 13, 7:20 PM |

On the same note we are recommending these books not just for one quiz, but for continued enjoyment. Our Literature editors have a pretty good knowledge of books behind them. I pretend to because I work at a bookstore (also the English education). We're trying to spread the awareness of our favourite books and, in turn, let you guys have the chance to do the same. :) Reply #35. Dec 04 13, 8:04 PM |

I'm doing some of the reading, even though I probably won't write any quizzes. Almost finished "The Hypnotist". Reply #36. Dec 04 13, 8:26 PM |

I liked "The Hypnotist" a lot, and I'm rereading to write the quiz, trying to sort out the threads now that I know the ending. You have three story lines, really, with lots of foreshadowing, backtracking, intertwining, and red herrings. I will definitely read the next one when I finish the quiz. Thanks for suggesting it, Kyle. Reply #38. Dec 04 13, 9:10 PM |

No problemmo. I liked the tone of 'The Hypnotist' a lot, but 'The Nightmare' was much more frightening story-wise. Reply #39. Dec 04 13, 9:19 PM |
