mask100. I've some won quizzes on some American sports games which I don't follow so that was a surprise. I can't recall the exact titles but they would include NASCAR, horse racing, and American football. Often it depends on luck or on your opponent's knowledge (or lack of it). I got a high score on an Australian quiz the other day but I was matched against the second highest scorer of the first 50 to play the quiz. They were from Australia and also an editor or a member of the quiz writer's guild or some such thing (perhaps both). One of my problems is that my memory's not the best. Reply #3121. P.S. I play the games in order from top to bottom. Can anyone guess which one of the first 11 games I actually won? (Sadly, I can't offer a physical prize to the winner only kudos). Reply #3122. Sep 14 17, 2:59 AM |

I always play the games from the bottom to the top. I sometimes score high and my opponent scores higher. I get frustrated when I lose by just 9 points or less and it seems like it has been often that I do lose close games. Reply #3123. Sep 16 17, 11:54 PM |

I just got hit with a reload penalty on College Alumni, one of my favorite categories, because the site dropped the first time I took the duel. I thought that it was supposed to be smarter than that now. 990 down to 495 Reply #3124. Sep 18 17, 10:21 AM |

As for my playing style nowadays, I like to get rid of those topics I am the least uncomfortable with and in some other days I get rid of topics I am strongest in. Depends on my mood, just the other day won at Punk Rock, a category in which I suck. I guess luckily my challenger sucked even more:). Good for you Mixamatosis. Reply #3125. Sep 18 17, 10:31 AM |

Also happy to see that finally the Civil War topic is now correctly labelled as US Civil War. Reply #3126. Sep 18 17, 11:03 AM |

Related to earning points for trivia duel - when finding quiz within 20 minutes of it going on-line is offered as a challenge, it would be great if there were more than one or two new quizzes that day! Reply #3127. Sep 18 17, 2:14 PM |

I observe that eyhung has passed 12,000 wins and is still a Lion. Since the Tiger/Lion transition is at 10,000 wins, eyhung is now over 2000 wins above that point and remains a Lion. So where does the Path of the Dinosaurs badge get awarded? Reply #3128. Sep 19 17, 6:50 PM |

Is eyhung currently number one? Reply #3130. Sep 19 17, 8:52 PM |

My current count of Lions includes eyhung, Triviaballer, and strnog1. I note that daver852 is almost there. FunTrivia does not show the full leader list for Duel, but it is not too hard to piece together by looking at profiles of prominent players. Reply #3131. Sep 19 17, 10:53 PM |

It takes 12500 wins to reach the Path of the Dinosaurs. When I hit 10000 and saw I was only four-fifths of the way there, I think you might have heard my"Arrrgh!" down in the Lower 48. Reply #3132. Sep 19 17, 11:16 PM |

I haven't managed to complete the Tiger level yet, so that's a depressing thought. The only Lion you've missed so far, Brian, is colinu-nyc. Reply #3133. Sep 20 17, 12:49 AM |

Hmmm...I don't know much about hockey but have picked up a few snippets from friends who do follow it....and I know a bare minimum enough that I hoped the "when in doubt, guess the name you have heard of" tactic would work... It did not. Holy festival of "what number jersey did player X wear?" type questions! ...I must have had at least 6 of them. Managed a 255 without answering a single question right on the first guess...and kept some hope I might hit another non NHL fan with worse luck. Nope...lost by about 10 Sorry, don't kond me I'm just ranting at the wall...carry on Reply #3135. Sep 20 17, 6:44 PM |

Speaking of hockey(ice), I always(seems like) am matched against a Canadian, and Hockey is like the National Language there. Reply #3136. Sep 20 17, 6:59 PM |

Join the club....I find the same...an Indian quiz and I am matched with an Indian, Canadian, like you matched with a Canadian, English history subjects and geography matched with an English person, and frankly I have to wonder if that is accidental or what???? Reply #3137. Sep 20 17, 7:23 PM |

Yes I too find that I get matched up with a Canadian when playing ice hockey quizzes. I need 5 more wins to get to the next step but I am far from the top. Reply #3138. Sep 20 17, 8:40 PM |

I also had a game on ice hockey that was full of questions about the numbers on players shirts. I can't understand why anyone would remember that kind of detail for many different teams. Reply #3139. Sep 20 17, 10:30 PM |
