According to this site, as well as many trivia sites, 'Mickey Mouse' was the password used by U.S. forces on D-Day ('Operation Overlord' was the codeword for the entire operation, not really a password).

There is a myth that the password was "Mickey Mouse." Operation Overloard was not a mickey mouse project. In truth, the password was "Flash" and the countersign was "thunder." The troups were also issued brass cricket, a small toy that made a clicking sound when squeezed in order to recognize friendlies in the dark. One click was answered by two clicks.
