More recently that I had thought. The last armed conflict in this country that prides itself on its neutrality was a civil war, now named The Sonderbund War, that was waged between October and November of 1847.
However, the new state was a compromise solution. The victorious majority took into consideration the concerns of the losers, especially their desire for sovereignty of the cantons...
