It sounds as if it is a name to do with Palm Sunday and if so we don't have an equivalent. It is like the names Conception and Imaculada

I'm not sure but I don't thnk so. Ramon or Raimundo would be connected with Raymond because they are all Germanic in origin(Old German:Ragin-mund = 'mighty or wise protector') but whether Ramiro is derived from this source seems doubtful to me. 'ramo' in Spanish means 'branch','bough' or 'bunch'/'bouquet' and 'domingo de ramos' means 'Palm Sunday' so whether these roots have a connection with Ramiro,I'm not sure, but they would not have a link to English.

The Oxford Dictionary of Surnames derives Ramiro from the German Reinmar, which in turn comes from 'ragin' (counsel') and 'mari' or 'meri' (fame). Ramirez is said to be a patronymic from Ramiro. Although somem similar germanic names have English equivalents, there doesn't seem to be an English form of reinmar/Ramiro.
