Forrest actually says this phrase twice, once right after they first meet on the school bus and later, during one of their many reunions, specifically the one where they meet at the peace rally in Washington, D.C. Forrest was afraid when they had first parted that Jenny was angry with him, but that night, as they walked and talked into the wee hours, he reassures himself that they are again "just like peas and carrots."

Forrest innocently gets caught in a line-up of speakers at the anti-war rally; however, he is not actually heard at the podium because the power is cut. When the power comes back on, you hear Forrest say the last sentence, "That's all I have to say about that."

Early in the movie while Forrest was still in leg braces, he was in Elvis' room making silly moves while Elvis played the guitar and Elvis asks Forrest to show him that crazy little walk he did.

Forrest and Bubba chatted and Bubba said his real name was Benjamin Buford Blue but people called him Bubba Blue. Forrest said his name was Forrest Gump and that people called him Forrest Gump. Bubba's family was in the shrimp business and, after Bubba died in Vietnam, Forrest went into the shrimp business and made a lot of money. Williamson guest starred on the TV series', "CSI: NY", "Raines" and "Monk".

Mykelti had a difficult time getting roles he sought after "Forrest Gump" because he played the role so well. Entertainment executives thought Mykelti to have a slight speech impediment due to his enlarged bottom lip, but his Bubba performance was enhanced by a prosthesis. A guest appearance on "Late Night with David Letterman" allowed him to be seen as Mykelti and not the character Bubba. Shortly after "Forrest Gump", Mykelti appeared in the movies "Heat", "Free Willy II", "Waiting to Exhale", "Con Air", and "Primary Colors". Not a bad turnaround in his career, I'd say!

Jenny is just about to board her bus back to Berkeley, California, when Forrest tells her she should have it. She tries to give it back to him, but he insists she keep it. Later, when she leaves him once again, she will leave this precious gift, which hurts Forrest deeply.

Anderson, born on April 13th, 1945, in Wahpeton, North Dakota, had the small role of the principal. Mrs. Gump went to the principal to see if he would accept Forrest into his school. The principal said Forrest had an IQ of 75 and that Forrest might not do well. However, the principal was convinced to let Forrest be a student at his elementary school in Greenbow, Alabama. Anderson had guest starring stints on the TV series', "Malcolm in the Middle", "Medium" and "Judging Amy".

Jenny Curran is first introduced to the world in Winston Groom's book, "Forrest Gump". The movie's dialog however never addressed her last name. Just 'Jenny' throughout the movie kept her perfectly young, innocent, and beautiful, just the way Forrest saw her.
(1) Jenny's full name flashed on an envelope Forrest sends from Vietnam; (2) on her family's mailbox at the house that Forrest eventually had torn down as an unspoken gift in remembrance of Jenny; and (3) Curran was visible on the "return to sender" envelopes Forrest received while in the hospital recovering from the bullet wound to his "buttocks".

When Forrest made the All-American football team, he went to the White House and met JFK. While there, he drank a bunch of Dr. Peppers. When he went to shake hands with Kennedy, he was asked how he felt to be an All-American. Forrest replied, 'I gotta pee,' causing Kennedy to laugh.
