Ben figured out that the password was Valley Forge because Dr. Chase hit the "L" twice. He knew this because he could see her finger prints on the keyboard.

'All right! What I know is that daylight savings wasn't established until World War 1. If it's 3pm now that means that in 1776 it would be 2pm.' They had thought that they had missed the shadow but then Riley came up with this very interesting information.

Ben finds the Charlotte buried in snow above the Arctic Circle. Here, he finds the pipe.

Ben used one of the water bottles that was sitting on the checkout counter. When he held it up you could see that the label was blue and very clearly said "Aquafina" on the front. He got the hundred dollar bill from the store clerk after he used his watch as collateral.

Benjamin Franklin had written these Silence Dogood letters for the New England Courant because his brother was an authority at the paper. He chose a "middle-aged housewife" to share his thoughts in order to remain anonymous, but still share what he was thinking.

Ben figured out that this riddle meant that there was an invisible map on the back of the Declaration of Independence. Ben knew this because 55 men signed the Declaration of Independence and Timothy Matlack was the official scribe of the Continental Congress.

Everyone thought it was a dead end and the only way out was going on a 200-year-old elevator. Ian threatened to shoot Ben if he didn't tell him the next clue. Ben's dad feared his son's death, and told Ian that the lantern in the stone room represented a lantern lit in Boston.

The Founding Fathers put the clue on the Declaration because they knew that since it was so important, it would last through time.

They took the Declaration to Ben's dad's house where they were able to examine it. The lemon juice combined with heat worked together to bring out the invisible ink on the back of the document.

When attempting to reveal the cypher on the back of the Declaration of Independence, Ben and Abigail use a hair dryer for the heat and lemon juice. This cypher is what the young boy uses when he is looking up the letters in the Silence Dogood letters. Patrick Gates, Ben's father, mentions putting the document into the oven because he believes heat is needed as a reagent for the invisible ink.

This riddle, as Ben figures out, says that you must be at Independence Hall at 2:22. They figured this out because John Pass and John Stow cast the Liberty Bell. Independence Hall was where the Liberty Bell hung at the time of the Revolutionary War.

After Ben told Ian that they could not steal the Declaration, Ian pulled a gun on him, and when the ship was going to blow up, Ian locked Ben and Riley in the cargo hold of the Charlotte. Luckily for Ben and Riley, he found a smuggler's hatch and escaped from the ship before it exploded.

Ben, while standing in front of the Declaration of Independence says "180 years of searching and I'm three feet away". He has found the pipe, which leads him to the Declaration of Independence; however, he is still not sure how he is going to steal the document for their use in their "treasure protection". This is just before he decides to begin researching at the Library of Congress.

These clues could be seen on the back of the declaration using the special glasses that Ben found at Independence Hall. Ben figured out that the treasure was at the intersection of Broadway and Wall Street in New York City, because Wall Street follows the path of an actual wall that the Dutch colonists built as a defense. The main gate was located at a street called Deheere. Deheere was renamed Broadway after the British took over. Parkington Lane was a third degree master mason. Ben and the rest had to go through Lane's tomb in order to get to the treasure.

When Phil asked Ben for the Declaration, which was in a leather cylinder, Ben agreed. 'Okay, Phil'. He then threw the cylinder to Phil, but he had to jump and grab it before it fell off the building. Phil opened the cylinder and found there was no document.

Ben asked her where it led and she told him he would figure it out. He then chased her across the huge front lawn toward the house.

Ben tells Abigail that there is a cartograph on the back of the Declaration of Independence, because he wants to appear more intelligent and less interested in the treasure that he and Riley are attempting to find. Ben does not want Abigail to think that he is a treasure hunter, therefore, he does not want to mention that he is looking for the cypher on the back.

Riley was telling Ben and Abigail about Daylight Savings being invented in 1776. He really liked the feeling that he knew something that Ben and Abigail didn't. When he asked them whether they knew who suggested it, they both knew.

Independence Hall is where the Declaration of Independence was signed. The glasses that Ben Frankin made were found inside a hollow brick on the roof of Independence Hall.

Trinity Church is at the intersection of Wall Street and Broadway. They had to go to the boiler room, then through the tomb of Parkington Lane in order to find the stairwell that led to the treasure room which, according to Ben, is five stories underground.

Ben's dad took advantage of Ian's lack of knowledge in US history to throw him off. After the treasure was found, Ben led Agent Sadusky to Old North Church which is where he could find Ian and arrest him.

Riley is upset with Ben by the fact that Ben did not keep more for themselves. Ironically, he says this as he drives off in his new car.
