This question refers to the same scene as question four, where Margaret is teaching William to read. This scene with Margaret and William on the porch is the first time either of them is shown in the movie. Margaret is showing William a card with a letter on it and asks him what letter it is. William answers "An R." Margaret replies with "Good."

Answer: Tavington killing his wife and son

John Billings is one Benjamin Martin's men, and all he has is his wife and his little boy. Tavington, in rage over Benjamin, tries every possibility to get to Benjamin.
Earlier on in the movie, Tavington burns down the plantation which is owned by Benjamin's sister-in-law who is taking care of Benjamin's children, in hope of getting to the children.
Next, he provokes Benjamin, at Fort Carolina, while Benjamin is under the protection of the white flag which he rides in under, in hopes of Benjamin showing signs of aggression.
Later on, Tavington gets a list of some Benjamin's men and is burning down houses until someone reveals the Militia's hiding place and he attacks, killing whomever resists. This is the breaking point for John Billings, as his wife and son are among the victims.

This is perhaps the first semi-sympathetic move that Jean makes towards Martin.

This scene is in the beginning of the movie. First shown is Nathan telling Samuel that there's a post-rider and Samuel then stands up and turns around. Afterwards we see Gabriel and Thomas coming out of the trees and Abigail with Margaret and William on the porch.

Losing Gabriel comes as a big shock for Benjamin. Gabriel is Benjamin's first-born. By then, Benjamin has run his course and is done fighting in the war. The militia then ride off with the regulars, so Benjamin can bury his son. Benjamin then picks up Gabriel's bag in which he finds an American flag, that Gabriel is fixing throughout the movie. He then rides up to the soldiers with the flag. His men greet him with yelling: "Hooray!" several times.

After Gabriel shoots Tavington, Gabriel walks up to Tavington with a knife. Gabriel's ready to kill Tavington when Tavington rolls over and stabs Gabriel in the stomach with a sword, ending Gabriel's life.

Tavington is killed by Benjamin Martin at the end of the movie. He dies from a bayonet through the throat.

Benjamin Martin is one of the most heroic characters in any movie I've ever seen, and he is crazy. When he was saving Gabriel, he hit a British soldier so many times with a tomahawk, he was covered in blood. The words "Captain BM" are inscribed on Martin's tomahawk.

In the beginning of the movie, Benjamin Martin has seven children: Gabriel, Thomas, Nathan, Margaret, Samuel, William and Susan. After Colonel Tavington shoots Thomas, Benjamin Martin has six children left. After Colonel Tavington stabs Gabriel, Benjamin Martin has five children left. Throughout the movie, we see a romance blossoming between Benjamin and Aunt Charlotte and in the final scene where the family rides home, Aunt Charlotte is holding a baby in her arms.
