Rumpelstiltskin has offered a special contract of wish fulfillment to anyone who can bring Shrek in. Shrek himself collects on this contract, asking for the release of all other ogres as his wish. Rumpelstiltskin complies, but doesn't release Fiona because he says that she does not qualify, only being half ogre. Shrek's one day is just about up and he is beginning to disappear, because he never was born. Fiona kisses him and for a minute, it appears that she is too late. Then Puss notices that Fiona is still an ogre, after the sun has come up and everyone realizes that love's true kiss has broken her curse, and his contract with Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek is returned to the birthday party, happy for the life he has.

Queen Lillian helps Fiona throughout the whole movie, Hook is seen playing the piano at the Poison Apple and King Harold dies at the beginning, but is in the movie. Lord Farquaad is from the first movie, where he wanted to save Fiona and marry her.

Fairy Godmother wanted the King to slip Fiona a potion that would make her fall in love with the first person that she kissed. When the King expressed reluctance to do this, Fairy Godmother menacingly reminded him that she had helped him achieve his 'happily ever after'. The King decided not to manipulate his daughter like that, and ended up being turned back into a frog when he jumped in front of a blast from Fairy Godmother's wand.

Since Donkey is, well, a donkey, and Dragon is a dragon, turns out they have freakish little babies which each are different, some have Donkey's torso, muzzle or ears, and have Dragon's tail or head and they all breathe fire.

Cookie, a comical and happy ogre says after fighting they're all going to be hungry and want his chimichangas! The unknown figurine is Cookie's chimichanga stand.
