These three ogre babies make their first appearance in "Shrek Forever After". Fergus is a Scottish name meaning 'Man of strength', this could have been chosen in relation to the fact Shrek has a Scottish accent. Felicia is a French name meaning 'Great happiness'; Fiona tells Shrek she's always wanted a girl named Felicia. Farkle isn't a common name but could be a reference to a French dice game. Shrek and various other characters mention the babies' names throughout the film.

The three babies' existence is threatened in the film, when Shrek signs a sneaky deal with a short, tricky fellow named Rumplestiltskin (Rumpel).

The boy's name isn't mentioned in the film but he was cast as Butter Pants. Butter Pants comes across as a spoilt boy whose father will do anything for him, including asking Shrek to do his famous ogre roar. After many annoyances (including Butter Pants, it has to be said) Shrek finally roars, silencing the whole room momentarily.

The voice of Butter Pants is done by Mike Mitchell, an American actor and animator.

Rumpel is plotting to get rid of Shrek by making him sign one of his dodgy deals. He gets Shrek's attention by pretending to be stuck under his horse drawn carriage, from which the wheel has fallen off. After Shrek saves him, Rumpel offers a lift and an eyeball martini, which Shrek just can't refuse...

The 'ogre for a day' deal allows Shrek to live as he once was, feared and free. But in return Rumpel requires a day from Shrek; he says this can be from his past, present or future. Shrek is at first unsure about the deal but Rumpel being Rumpel, wears him down and eventually agrees on taking a day from Shrek's past.

Donkey is working for the witches, pulling the cage in which Shrek is taken to see Rumpel. Shrek sparks up a conversation with Donkey, who seems to not know who he is! Donkey mentions that he doesn't want to work at Old MacDonalds; to the watcher this is a cleverly disguised reference to the McDonalds restaurants.

Rumpel puts on his business wig when Pinocchio comes to him, looking to make a deal so he can become a real boy. He has a selection of wigs; all made by the big bad wolf or wolfy as Rumpel calls him. His speech wig and angry wig are also used in the film.

Donkey takes Shrek's 'ogre for a day' contract and starts folding it in different directions to obtain the exit clause. He makes progress but it isn't quite right, so Shrek makes a few more folds and the clause is revealed as 'true love's kiss'. Shrek realises he needs to find Fiona and share a kiss with her, but where is she and will she, like Donkey, not know who he is?

After insisting that Donkeys are not dogs, Donkey smells something sweet and runs off into the forest. He finds a plate of syrup covered waffles on a tree stump, in the middle of a clearing. Shrek tells him he shouldn't eat them, because it's a bit suspicious that a plate of waffles would be out in the middle of nowhere. Donkey can't resist and licks a drop of syrup anyway, which springs a trap!

When Shrek first meets Puss, after his deal with Rumpel, he is in his cat house on top of a scratching pole. Puss comically climbs out of his house and onto the scratch pole, but because the new Puss is so fat he simply slides down and plops off the bottom. Scratching poles are a common household item bought for cats; they use them to file down their claws, to climb on and to play with.

In "Shrek Forever After" the Pied Piper pays the flute, except his flute is not ordinary. When he plays the flute on a particular setting it will force the ogres to come to him and dance to the beat. He also uses this clever little invention on Rumpel in the end credits of the film.

Chimichangas are basically a deep-fried burrito that originate from America. When going over the battle plan Fiona sees an unknown figurine, she asks what it is. Cookie, a comical and happy ogre says after fighting they're all going to be hungry and want his chimichangas! The unknown figurine is Cookie's chimichanga stand.

Shrek is shocked to see Rumpel has broken his deal and kept Fiona back. But as Rumpel explains, he hasn't actually broken his promise. Fiona isn't ALL ogre because of the curse that was cast on her when she was little; she used to be a princess.

Shrek arrives back at his children's birthday party at the moment when he roars. This time after he roars he laughs with the rest of the guests instead of storming out. Nobody knows he was gone and nothing has changed. Shrek is happy to see his wife, children, Donkey and Puss again and live his life, appreciating what he's got.
