Because Shrek was not around to rescue her, Fiona broke herself out of the tower. Lacking true love's kiss, her curse has not been broken, so she is still a princess by day and an ogress by night. However in this reality, she seems to be more in touch with her ogre side and is very militant about bringing an end to Rumpelstiltskin's reign of terror over ogres.
Shrek joins her band and tries to convince her that he is her true love, but she doesn't believe him. He finally talks her into kissing him, but because she does not love him, nothing happens.

As Shrek is headed off to meet Arthur Fiona is yelling that she is pregnant. Twice she isn't heard because the trumpeter keeps blowing his trumpet. The third time Shrek hears, and then Fiona asks if he is happy.

Answer: killing him off in a play performed before the kingdom

It seems that Charming has taken a real liking to performing, even though his work is not widely appreciated. He plans an elaborate production, where he stages the rescue of a princess from the tower (possibly the rescue of Fiona from the first "Shrek" movie), only this time his new love, Rapunzel, plays the princess in the tower. Charming plans on having Shrek play the ogre and killing him during the play. While rehearsing for the show, before Shrek is captured, he accidentally kills two of the actors pretending to be Shrek, while searching for the most dramatic way to deliver the killing blow.

Answer: a dwarf

Fiona opens the box to find a dwarf wearing a bonnet. When she asks what it is, Snow White informs her that it's a babysitter and the dwarf says 'Where's the baby?' When Fiona announces that she can't accept the gift, Snow White assures her that it's alright because she has six more at home.

After Fiona runs from the welcome home dinner she retreats to her room where she sheds a few tears. The Fairy Godmother arrives and starts singing and then she gives Fiona a white Bichon Frise with a pink bow!

He's very persistent - they travel through a few differnet scenes and at every new place he asks "Are we there yet?". I'm sure we all know someone who's done this on a journey.

The King brushes off the greeting, on his way to see Puss 'N Boots, but the reason for this does not become clear until the end of the movie. Then we learn that the King used to be a frog, before the Fairy Godmother helped him with his 'Happily Ever After'. Wendy Bilanski provides the voice of the bar frog. Antonio Banderas did an amazing job of providing the voice for Puss 'N Boots.

Answer: a little bag of catnip

This scene is absolutely hysterical. After the knight pulls out the bag and says 'Yep, that's catnip.' Puss In Boots says 'Um, that's not mine.' Afterwards, when they have our friends in the back of a paddy wagon-like vehicle they 'spray' Shrek with pepper from a pepper mill.

This city is supposed to be the fairy tale version of Los Angeles. The animators even altered the signature Hollywood sign on the hill.

Shrek says this when they are approaching the castle where Fiona is and there was brimstone in the air.

The Green Goblin was the villain in 'Spider-Man', brilliantly played by Willem Dafoe. 'The Incredible Hulk' is another comic book hero (a film of which, directed by Ang Lee is due out with Eric Bana in the title role). 'The Happy Prince' is a short story by Oscar Wilde.

'Shrek' had 36 unique scenes. FYI, 'Toy Story 2' had the most number of animated particles by computer for its scene with Woody and Wheezy on the bookshelf (dust). 'Toy Story' had its sequel made before 'Shrek' was released. And most movies have fictional plots.

After insisting that Donkeys are not dogs, Donkey smells something sweet and runs off into the forest. He finds a plate of syrup covered waffles on a tree stump, in the middle of a clearing. Shrek tells him he shouldn't eat them, because it's a bit suspicious that a plate of waffles would be out in the middle of nowhere. Donkey can't resist and licks a drop of syrup anyway, which springs a trap!
