Answer: a bride, beautifully dressed for her husband
The dead are judged and those whose names aren't in the book of life are thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:13-15). And then John sees the new universe, which he describes:
"I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, prepared as a bride, beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.' "
(Revelation 21:2-4, NIV)
Phil Ware writes, "I don't know about you, but I'm kind of ready for that old order stuff to go away. The end of tears, death, mourning, crying and pain sounds pretty good to me!" (Today's Verse from Heartlight.org, June 1, Year 1)

Answer: only
This is Jesus' response to Satan following one of Satan's temptations. Jesus had been alone in the desert for forty days after his baptism before Satan had arrived. In this instance, Satan had taken Jesus to the top of a very high mountain, shown him all the kingdoms, and said "All this I will give you if you will bow down and worship me."

Answer: Lion
This can be found in Ecclesiastes 9:4. The full quote is "For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion". It basically has the same meaning as "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". In a more biblical sense, it means to cling to the living word of God, rather than to the meaningless and empty rituals of the past.

Answer: shame and spitting
Many Christians believe that this is a direct correlation to Matthew 26:67, when Christ was spit upon, and beaten while being made a laughingstock just prior to his crucifixion. Isaiah wrote his book of prophecy somewhere between 740 and 680 years prior to the birth of Jesus in the flesh.

Answer: Nostrils
This verse is Job 39:20 in the King James Version of the Bible. The nostrils in question actually belong to a warhorse - the previous verse 19 says "Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?" and the quote is then followed by verse 21 "He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed man".
The Book of Job was the inspiration for, and formed the basic plotline of the book "Job: A Comedy of Justice" by famed science fiction author Robert A. Heinlein, which was first published in 1984.

This verse comes almost at the end of a long prophecy about the coming destruction of Babylon in Jeremiah 50-51. After God has given a detailed account of all the horrifying things that He's going to do to Babylon, He explains why He's going to do it: It's His nature to do justice by punishing evil.

Answer: Ointment
Located in Ecclesiastes 10:1, the quote in full is "Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour: so does a little folly him that is in reputation for wisdom and honour". The meaning is that one small flaw or any other negative action can ruin the reputation of the best person, or the goodness of what would be an otherwise excellent idea.

The verse in question is Matthew 23:24 in the King James Version of the Bible.
The previous verse is "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."
This part of the Gospel of Matthew tell us how Jesus entered into debate with the Pharisees, and the Saducees, and refuted their arguments. The listening crowd of common people, and the disciples, were impressed by his words.
Pharisees and Saducees were two different factions of Jewish elders at the time of Christ. The upper class Saducees held a majority of seats in the Sanhedrin, or parliament of the time, and were amenable to the dictates of the Roman colonial rulers. The Pharisees were more middle class, businessmen and suchlike, and were much more in touch with the feelings and political wishes of the commoners.

(This verse is part of a collection of different instructions near the end of Hebrews 13:1-19. This section is similar to a lot of the book of Proverbs in that it's a hodgepodge of miscellaneous statements: each one doesn't build on the last.)
"We look to God in times of trouble and heartache, and for some of us that's about it. The problem is that we have too many little 'g' gods. These little gods are idols that we worship and sacrifice to everyday. We do so with our time, effort, and money. . . These idols promise the power of salvation, but never deliver. They are powerless, mouthless and earless (Isaiah 40:12-20)." (ShortDailyDevotions.com devotional; May 30, 2014)

This means something that is persistently irksome and irritating. It is taken from 2 Corinthians 12:7, as "And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure".

Answer: Hornet
The verse in question is Deuteronomy 7:20 in the King James Version of the Bible.
In this Chapter, we hear God's words to the Israelites, telling of the blessings He has in store for them, and how they should not fear their enemies, for God will help them triumph and send plagues such as the ones He inflicted on the Egyptians.
This particular verse's mention is the only instance of a hornet in the Bible. Hornets are actually members of the wasp family, and the largest species, Vespa mandarinia can grow to a length of 2 inches! They are colloquially known as "Yak killer" in parts of eastern Asia. Their sting is so painful that it can actually drive animals mad, causing say a horse to throw and trample its rider.

This means that all things must occur as they were foretold and it's no use worrying about what you hear because "the word of the Lord endureth forever". It can also means, to a degree, that nothing, even sorrow and pain, lasts forever. It is taken from Matthew 24:6-8 and in full reads "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all things must come to pass, but the end is not yet".

The Psalms often make statements like this where the writer tells about how God had responded to and helped him: for example see Psalms 3:4, 28:6, 31:21-22 and 66:19-20.
C.H. Spurgeon writes, "I bring my poor prayer in my hand to the great King, and He gives me audience and graciously receives my petition. My enemies will not listen to me, but my LORD will. They ridicule my tearful prayers, but my LORD does not; He receives my prayer into His ear and His heart." (Faith's Checkbook, June 6)

The ants are one of the "four things which are little on the Earth, but are exceeding wise", with the other three being "The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces. (Proverbs 30 24-28)
Ants of the genus Pheidole are common in the Middle East, and would have been widely known in Biblical times. They do actually amass stores of corn for the winter, and almost seem to "plan" so that the nest has enough food to see them through until spring comes and fresh supplies are available again.
From Quiz: There are Bugs in the Bible?
Answer: redemption
Ephesians Chapter One tells of the blessings of redemption. Redemption means deliverance. Through redemption, we can achieve eternal life in heaven. Without redemption, the inherent sinfulness of humans will make that impossible.
The Bible says in Act 16:31, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." This is the Biblical explanation as to how one can be redeemed. It is through faith in Christ.
