While it is not clear why this wife of David despised him in this passage, it might be inferred that she was not happy about the ark returning, or it may have been jealousy. Regardless, she was not in God's will, because she otherwise would have been happy to see the king elated at God's covenant returning to the land.

This may be seen as God's recrimination against those who despise His will and apply their own thinking to their lives instead of trusting in His judgement.

Beginning in the 11th verse of this passage, we see five promises that God makes to Israel.

5) He will plant them in their land.

This composite quotation by Paul in the New Testament is actually found in two separate passages in Isaiah 26:19 and 60:1. Christians interpret these passages as foreshadowings of Christ:

The 13th verse promises new heavens and a new earth.

Notice the plural form used, ten thousand-S. This is more than an exact ten thousand; many more.
Another note: Enoch is in the seventh GENERATION from Adam, not the seventh human in existence.
Another item of interest: This book is believed by many to have been written by the brother of James, who wrote a book in the New Testament by that title, and both of them were half-brothers of Jesus, along with Simon and Joses (Joseph Jr., if you will). They also had some sisters, but we do not know their names. These were the children of Joseph and Mary, all born after Jesus, who was the son of Mary and the Holy Ghost of God, according to Christian beliefs.

Paul seems to be trying to convey the concept of spiritual growth, as opposed to man's natural thinking processes, in this passage.

Some believe that John the Baptist, who baptized Jesus, had the spirit of Elijah on him, while others maintain that this is one of the two witnesses spoken of in Revelation 11:3-13.
