On February 1st 2004,Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake were headliners for the Super Bowl XXXVIII live half-time show. During the last line of "Rock Your Body," Timberlake reaches across and pulls part of Jackson's costume off revealing Janet's right breast partially covered by some nipple jewelry. CBS immediately cut away to an aerial view of the stadium, but not before the world viewed Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction." The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) fined CBS a record $550,000 and MTV, the producers of the half-time show, received a life-ban from producing the super bowl half-time show.

Answer: Lindsay Lohan

On January 22nd 2011, Lindsay Lohan was shopping in Los Angeles at the Kamofie & Company jewelry store. The actress had taken a liking to a necklace priced at $2,500. Seemingly, she liked the necklace more than the price and left the store without paying. Police arrested her and she was charged with a felony.

In court the prosecution submitted evidence that four days earlier, Ms. Lohan had committed the same "scatter-brained" error in leaving the store with ear-rings priced at $1,180 before an employee reminded her that she still had the merchandise attached to her ear lobe.

Answer: Michael Jackson

The 2002 MTV Annual Awards fell on Michael Jackson's birthday. Organizers had a surprise cake brought on stage and Britney Spears' assignment was to present him with the cake. In an off-hand remark she called Michael her "artist of the millennium." The trouble was by the time Michael Jackson made it on stage he had already prepared a touching monologue thanking everyone for the fictitious award Britney had inadvertently made up for him.

While he gave his touching remarks, Ms. Spears danced in the background with the big cake.

Answer: She was not even a real runner and had only run the last half-mile of the race

April 21st, 1980 and the World's elite marathoners converged upon Boston for the Boston Marathon. American, Bill Rodgers won his third consecutive Boston title. In the women's race, Cuban-born Rosie Ruiz sprinted down the finishing straight to loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

There was only one teensy-weensy problem -- "SHE CHEATED!" Long after the race, it was discovered that she had burst from the crowd a half-mile from the finish on Commonwealth Avenue. A little disorientated but not particularly sweaty, she smiled for the cameras and accepted the first-place trophy.

It was also later discovered that her qualifying time of 2:56.29 as the 11th place finisher at the previous year's New York City Marathon was also a "scatterbrain" moment. Susan Morrow, a freelance photographer had met Rosie on the subway in New York going to the finish line. Rosie had retired early from the race.

At the finish line, she "forgot" to mention that to the race officials and was given an official race time.

In the years that followed, Rosie retired from her exhausting marathon career.

Answer: Christina Aguilera

Miss Christina did indeed have a "scatter-brained" moment. In the song's fourth line she changed "O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming" to merging lyrics with the 2nd line she had just sung "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last reaming." Always the professional, Miss Aguilera recovered to belt out an 11-second final note before rushing off-stage to begin practicing the "correct" words for the next sports contest she will headline.

The other choices above are largely regarded as three of the best ever performances of the National anthem at the Super Bowl. The late Whitney Houston tops the list with her 1991 rendition. Mariah Carey performed it in 2002 and Kelly Clarkson in 2012.

Answer: Tonya Harding

In the build-up to the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, a real-life soap opera played out on the skating rinks of the United States of America. On January 6th, 1994, Shane Stant was hired by Tonya Harding's ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly and her personal bodyguard, Shawn Eckhardt. Stant attacked Kerrigan in Detroit with a collapsible police baton and struck her a few inches above the knee. The blow caused extensive damage but did not break the leg. Nancy Kerrigan was forced to withdraw from the National Championship which Tonya Harding went on to win. She later admitted to having some knowledge of the planned attack. Unbelievably, she remained on the Olympic team and both Harding and Kerrigan would skate at Lillehammer. Nancy Kerrigan skated beautifully to the silver medal while Harding finished a disappointing 8th. After the Olympic Games, Tonya Harding received a life ban from skating. Life after skating conferred notoriety and minor celebrity status on Tonya. She appeared in the movie "Breakaway" (1996) playing the girlfriend of a criminal. She also appeared on the "USA Pro Wrestling Show" (1994), and started her boxing career on the Fox Television network show "Celebrity Boxing" (2002). She went on to have a less than impressive boxing career with a record of 3-3. Incidentally, the incorrect choices listed above were all women Harding lost fights to.

Answer: Monica Lewinsky

Monica Samille Lewinsky was born July 23rd 1973 and is a celebrity in Great Britain where she appears on Channel 5's "Monica's Postcards" (2000). She also featured as a host on "Mr Personality" (2003), a popular reality television dating program. Unfortunately, she is also the infamous woman behind President Bill Clinton's moral fall from public grace.

As a White House intern in 1995 she worked in the office of Leon Panetta, the White House Chief of Staff. In 1996, she served a paid position in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. Miss Lewinsky made the poor decision to confide in colleague Linda Tripp which ultimately led to the story going public. According to testimony under oath, Miss Lewinsky had nine "encounters" with the President between November 1995 and March 1997.

As a side-note, my wife served as a White House Intern during this period and never got any of the same preferential treatment from the President, although once he did help her on with her coat at a State function.

Answer: Oprah Winfrey

In September, 2004, Oprah Winfrey started her 19th season with a bang. Taking all 276, carefully screened, studio audience guests into the parking lot, she informed everyone they would all be receiving their very own Pontiac G-6 midsize 2005 sports sedan complete with satellite radio, seat warmers, and with the annoying (but very beneficial if you are having an emergency) onstar system.

A week later, CNN Money reported that the $28,500 value of the car was taxable income and thus the lucky recipients would have to come up with close to $7,000 if they wanted to keep their new gifts.

The only way to avoid the taxes was to pay up or forfeit the car.

Answer: Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992 in Tennessee to country music star Billy Ray Cyrus. At a young age she moved to Los Angeles and earned a starring role in Disney's "Hannah Montana" (2006). A multi-million dollar contract, a singing career, and the opportunity to be a role-model for thousands of teenagers ensued.

Then in 2008, when Miley was just 15, "Vanity Fair" and famed photographer, Annie Lebowitz, approached her to do a photo shoot for the magazine. In the pictures, Miley is naked with a sheet barely covering her. Media critics called the shoot soft pornography and parents everywhere became outraged that Hannah Montana would be exploited in such a manner.

Others have called the photos artsy and tasteful. Disney seemed to sit on the fence and gave Miley a temporary hiatus from their high profile relationship for a few months.

Answer: Kirsten Dunst

To be completely fair, Miss Dunst was nervous on the show and had problems with the signaling button. Her competition also included Giants of Trivia knowledge. Gordon-Levitt ended the game with zero dollars, and "The Nanny's" Salisbury was the BIG winner with $1. Possibly Kirsten's best "incorrect" response was to the question, "Of Venus, Mars, or Saturn, the planet whose mean distance from the sun is 67,230,000 miles." Answer: "What is Pluto?"
