Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When was Michael Richards born?

Answer: 24th July 1949

Michael Anthony Richards was born on the 24th of July 1949 in Culver City, which is in Los Angeles, California. His father was an electrical engineer and his mother a medical records librarian.
2. Michael Richards won an Emmy award for his portrayal of Cosmo Kramer on the series "Seinfeld".

Answer: True

Michael won three "Emmy" Awards on this particular role. He definitely is a talented man at playing off-beat characters. Cosmo Kramer was based on a real man named Kenny Kramer. Kramer is remembered as the man who lived across from Jerry Seinfeld. He had wild stringy hair and was in-your-face honest, even if it hurt. Kenny Kramer lived across from Larry David, who was the co-creator of "Seinfeld" (1990-1998).
3. Michael was on a variety of television shows prior to "Seinfeld". Name the show that he was NEVER seen on.

Answer: Family Ties

Michael was not on the show "Family Ties" (1982 - 1989). He did appear on "Cheers" (1982-1993) as character named Eddie Gordon trying to collect money from Sam Malone (played by Ted Danson). Michael appeared as a bookie in the show, "Miami Vice" (1984-1989). He was a bit player in "St. Elsewhere" (1982 - 1988).
4. After "Seinfeld", Michael Richards starred in his own show called "The Michael Richards Show".

Answer: True

"The Michael Richards Show" (2000) was only around for one season. Michael played a detective named Vic Nardozza. Sadly this show was cancelled within 10 months. There was certainly enough star power behind it with such stars as William Devane, Tim Meadows and Bill Cobbs. I think people just thought of him as Cosmo Kramer.

I think this show is remembered as being a victim of "The Seinfeld Curse". Jason Alexander (George) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) both had shows after Seinfeld ended that were cancelled quickly.
5. Where did Michael earn a degree in drama in 1975?

Answer: The Evergreen State College

Michael graduated in 1975 with a degree in drama from The Evergreen State College. He also attended the California Institute of the Arts. He later enrolled at Los Angeles Valley College where he continued in drama.
6. In what movie did Michael play a character called Stanley Spadowski?

Answer: UHF

Michael appeared in each of these movies. "Problem Child" (1990) featured Michael as Martin Beck. He was a newspaper reporter in "So I Married an Axe Murderer" (1993). Fejos was his character's name in "Transylvania 6-5000".

1989's "UHF" included Stanley Spadowski played by Michael Richards. He was the eccentric janitor that worked Weird Al Yankovic in this funny movie about UHF television programs. If you are old enough, you will remember that all the low budget shows were on UHF.
7. What was the name of the woman whom Michael married in 1974?

Answer: Cathleen Lyons

Sue Ellen Mischke, Susan Ross and Jackie Chiles were all characters on "Seinfeld" (1990-1998). Sue Ellen was the bra-less wonder. Susan was George's fiancée who ultimately died. Jackie was Cosmo's lawyer who was portraying Johnny Cochrane at his best.

The real answer is Cathleen Lyons. They subsequently divorced in 1992. They have one daughter named Sophia.
8. In an episode entitled "The Apartment", Michael appeared as Kramer on a 1992 episode of what show?

Answer: Mad About You

This episode of "Mad About You" (1992-1999), was about Paul (Paul Reiser) not wanting to give up his apartment even though he was married to Jamie (Helen Hunt). We found out in this episode that Paul used to live in Kramer's apartment.

Boy, I am glad Paul moved because Kramer makes "Seinfeld" (1990-1998) hilarious.
9. During an episode of "Seinfeld" entitled "The Puffy Shirt", what kind of woman did Kramer date?

Answer: low talker

This is one of my favourite episodes of "Seinfeld" that aired on September 23, 1993. Kramer's new girlfriend was named Leslie who was a "low-talker". Jerry and Elaine ended up going out for dinner with Kramer and his new girlfriend who was a clothing designer. Since Jerry could not hear what Leslie was saying, he did not know he had just agreed to wear a "puffy shirt" on "The Today Show".

The high talker was Noreen's boyfriend Dan. The close talker was the great actor Judge Reinhold, who was Aaron, Elaine's new boyfriend who liked to spend time with the Seinfelds showing them around New York City.

I could not find a loud talker in "Seinfeld" at all.
10. In his role of Cosmo Kramer on "Seinfeld", Michael wore clothes that fitted him in what way?

Answer: One size too large

Cosmo Kramer, his character in "Seinfeld" (1990- 1998), always wore clothes one size too big to make him appear to be laid back and loose. He certainly did not worry that much about not having a job. I don't think I remember him working at a full time job for longer than a few days.
