Answer: Shot while reading a newspaper.

Benjamin 'Bugsy' Siegel (February 28, 1906 - June 20, 1947) was shot five times as he read the newspaper in his girlfriend's house. Vicious was soon released on bail. After a fight in a disco, he was put into a seven-week heroin rehab program.

The day he was released from a detoxification unit, he jumped right back into his addiction and overdosed. Vicious was dead less than four months after Nancy. His ashes were reportedly spread over Nancy's grave at the King David Cemetery in suburban Philadelphia.
