The Heap is either a WWI ace who was shot down over a swamp (Hillman Periodicals' "Air Fighters" #3 Dec. 1942), or a bum who was killed after finding a bag of necroplasm (Image comics, a villain in the "Spawn" series). The Thing is, of course, part of the Fantastic Four and is rock, not vegetable. Swamp Thing has a similar origin but was fatally injured in an explosion.

Illyana Rasputin (Magik) was the younger sister of the X-Man called Colossus. Jean Gray, also called Phoenix, had the powers of telepathy and telekinesis. Rachel Summers is the daughter of Cyclops and Jean Gray from an alternate future; her powers are telepathy and telekinesis, like her mother.
