Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Spuds McKenzie (commercials)

In the 1980s, Bud Light chose a bull terrier to become their beer company's mascot, Spuds McKenzie. The commercials made Spuds to be smooth with the ladies but actually the dog in the commercials was also female. The company discontinued using the bull terrier in ads when groups thought the use of a cute dog would influence children into buying beer.
2. Buddy from "Air Bud"

The original dog to play Bud in the 1997 movie "Air Bud" was a golden retriever named Buddy. He was found as a stray dog in the Sierra Nevada in 1989. The owner loved his playful nature and taught him how to play with basketballs, footballs, and soccer balls.

He even appeared on "Late Night With David Letterman" prior to starring in "Air Bud", a movie about a dog who could actually compete in basketball against humans.
3. Wishbone from his TV show

Jack Russell terriers are always listed in top ten lists of the world's smartest breeds of dogs. So it's no wonder to see them used often on TV shows like "Frasier" and "Wishbone". A dog named Soccer the Dog played the role of "Wishbone" on the television show that had the Jack Russell terrier taking on the role of lead characters in classic works of literature.
4. "Red Dog"

Red Dog was an Australian kelpie that became famous in the 1970s for wandering through Western Australia's Pilbara region. To the Pilbara community, he was a beloved mascot and after his passing, a statue of him was built in town called Dampier. His story was made famous in a book called "Red Dog" by Louis de Bernieres and a 2011 motion picture of the same name starring Josh Lucas.
5. Trakr, found the last survivor of 9/11 in NYC

Many dogs served on the rescue team after the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York City's Twin Towers. Trakr, a German shepherd, and his handler, Canadian police officer James Symington, are credited with finding the last survivor of the attack, Genelle Guzman. In 2011, "Time" Magazine named Trakr, one of the most heroic animals of all-time.
6. Reveille (Mascot of Texas A&M)

Yes, Lassie is the most famous rough collie of all-time but that would have been too obvious. Reveille is the beloved mascot of the University of Texas A&M. She was chosen in 1931 to represent the school and to raise funds for the K-9 Corps. All of the mascots over the years have been female.

After their passing, each of the rough collies were buried in a special cemetery just outside the north end of Kyle Field.
7. Lou Dog (appeared on Sublime album covers)

The most rock and roll dog of all-time could be Lou Dog. The Dalmatian was owned by lead singer, Brad Newell and named after Brad's grandfather Louie. The beloved Dalmatian would often appear on stage with the rock band, showcased on their album covers, and his name was dropped in the band's biggest hit, "What I Got".
8. Bo (Obama's family dog)

President Barack Obama and his family adopted a Portuguese water dog named Bo in 2009. The family needed a hypoallergenic dog since the daughter, Malia, was allergic to other breeds. Bo became the official "First Dog" along with Sunny, a female Portuguese water dog.
9. Bruiser from "Legally Blonde"

When you picture the movie "Legally Blonde", you probably picture Reece Witherspoon's big smile, bright outfits, and her chihuahua, Bruiser Woods. The actual dog actor's name was Moondoggie and not only appeared in both of the "Legally Blonde" movies, but also appeared in the television series "Providence" and a Cher music video.
10. Hurricane (won "America's Got Talent" with Adrian Stoica)

"America's Got Talent" pits incredible singers, magicians, and acrobats against each other for a million dollar prize. On season 18, trainer Adrian Stoica and his brilliant border collie, Hurricane, took home the grand prize. Border collies are consistently ranked among the most intelligent breeds and Hurricane was no exception.

The duo did acting skits while Hurricane did incredible athletic feats and demonstrated incredible timing in the well choreographed routines.
