This match lasted just under ten minutes, with Rey wowing the crowd with his impressive high-flying maneuvers. Unfortunately for him, he soon became trapped in Kurt Angle's signature submission move, the "Ankle Lock", and had no choice but to tap out.

Charles Robinson is one of WWE's best-known referees. He started working for WCW in 1997, where he got to work closely with his real-life idol, Ric Flair. The blonde-haired official went on to become a crucial part of WWE's refereeing team, having been in charge of important matches like Ric Flair's retirement at "Wrestlemania XXIV" and Shawn Michaels' retirement match at "WrestleMania XXVI". Robinson often refereed Flair's matches.

Flair and Jericho both gave a great match, which became tainted by Flair's classic dirty moves. While Robinson was knocked out, Flair hit Jericho with a low blow and put him into the "figure four leglock". Jericho submitted and lost the match.

Following up with an ongoing feud from "Smackdown!", Edge and Eddie Guerrero tried to settle their differences with a "Summerslam" match. Despite Guerrero's multiple attempts to injure Edge's shoulder by, for instance, slamming him into the metal stairs, Edge ultimately prevailed after hitting Guerrero with a powerful "spear".

The two would face each other again a month later at "Unforgiven", with Guerrero coming out victorious from that match.

The Un-Americans were a group that, as their name suggests, was formed by wrestlers who were not U.S. citizens. Its members included three Canadians: Christian, Lance Storm, and Test; Briton William Regal later joined them. Two of them, Christian and Lance Storm, came into "Summerslam" as reigning WWE Tag Team Champions while waving an upside-down American flag on their way to the ring. The team of Booker T and Goldust sought to win the belts but were unsuccessful.

Referee Nick Patrick was knocked out during the match, which allowed Test to interfere and help his teammates keep their titles.

Answer: Intercontinental Championship

Two of wrestling's most recognized superstars at the time competed in this match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Benoit came into the match as the defending champion, with this one being his fourth reign as Intercontinental Champion. Interestingly, the second time Benoit won that title was also in Uniondale, NY, where "Summerslam" 2002 took place.

Unfortunately for Benoit, Rob Van Dam gave a great performance and bravely resisted Benoit's submission moves. Van Dam came out as the new Intercontinental Champion, becoming the first superstar to win a title that night.

At this time, The Undertaker's gimmick was not one of darkness and mystery; rather, he was an American patriot who came into the ring on a motorcycle and wearing a bandanna. His opponent was Test, one of the members of The Un-Americans, a group that had no respect for the U.S. flag and its symbols.

The two wrestlers exchanged blows during the match and Undertaker even had to fight off interference from Test's teammates. However, after delivering a "Big Boot", Undertaker performed his signature "Tombstone Piledriver" on Test and defeated his Canadian opponent.

Answer: Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels was born in Arizona but grew up in the state of Texas. As a result, Michaels would often come to the ring dressed in jeans, cowboy boots, and a hat. At "Summerslam" 2002, Michaels came in wearing jeans, brown boots, and a belt with a white buckle.

His match with Triple H was booked as an "unsanctioned street fight", which meant that there would be no rules and no disqualifications. This stipulation added an element of violence and excitement to an already-thrilling match between two greats.

Answer: Triple H attacked Michaels with his sledgehammer

The match between Michaels and Triple H lasted nearly half an hour and is remembered as one of the greatest Pay-Per-View matches of the 2000 decade. The match featured nonstop action and the use of weapons like trash cans, steel chairs, and ladders. A bloodied Triple H almost won the match with a "Pedigree", but Shawn Michaels reversed and trapped his opponent in a pinfall, winning the match.

When the match ended, Triple H took out his frustration by hitting Michaels with a sledgehammer from behind.

The brutal attack left Michaels unconscious in the ring as Triple H left the arena bleeding but smiling.

Answer: Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman is a well-known name in the wrestling industry because of his involvement with the now-defunct ECW, and because he has managed legends like Lesnar, CM Punk, and Rob Van Dam. As Lesnar's manager, Heyman walked with him to the main event match. The Rock entered next and wasted no time, as he immediately started punching Lesnar before the referee could even ring the bell.

Answer: Brock Lesnar

This match was really worthy of its main event status. The Rock and Brock Lesnar both gave great performances, exchanging exciting moves which included a lot of action outside the ring. At one point, The Rock performed a "Rock Bottom" on Heyman, slamming him into one of the announcers' tables. Later, Lesnar surprised The Rock by hitting him with his own finisher. From there, Lesnar overpowered "Rocky" and defeated him to become the new WWE Undisputed Champion.

The Rock, who had become the first-ever seven-time WWE champion when he defeated both Kurt Angle and The Undertaker at "Vengeance" 2002, lost his title that night and would never win it again (although in 2013, he did win the WWE Championship, which is considered a successor of the Undisputed belt).
