Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What washes up on the shore of the island?

Answer: Everything

Everything washes up on the shore of the island, eventually, including the Incredibly Deadly Viper. There are lots of things washed up, just to be sent away by Ishmael.
2. Who is not an islander?

Answer: Miguel

There are lots of islanders, some being professors, Rabbis, teachers, orphans, villains, and volunteers. Everyone has a secret, or something to hide.
3. What does Ishmael say to increase peer pressure?

Answer: "I won't force you..."

Ishmael almost always says to get rid of things that could be useful to the islanders. He sends them away, because he believes in a peaceful and simple way of life. He always starts a sentence "I won't force you, but..." He says this even to sheep so they go faster.
4. Did Kit have her baby before arriving on the island?

Answer: No

No, she didn't. She arrived on a cube of books, pregnant, and stayed up there for days for fear of damaging the baby by climbing down.
5. What happens to the Islanders when they drink coconut cordial?

Answer: They get drowsy

Everyone drinks coconut cordial on the Island, but the Baudelaires didn't much care for it. Ishmael makes them drink coconut cordial to make them drowsy, and not fuss about things.
6. The Baudelaires do not have a guardian in this book.

Answer: True

They hadn't had guardians since the seventh book, when the whole village cared for them. However, I think that is enough guardians for anyone for their whole life. The Baudelaires end up becoming guardians themselves, for Kit Snicket's child, Beatrice.
7. Who died in this book?

Answer: They both did

The Baudelaire's buried them both on the island, before they left. Surprisingly, before Count Olaf died, he kissed Kit Snicket, and said a poem.
8. What saved the children from dying from the Medusoid Mycellium?

Answer: All of these things

Violet, Klaus and Sunny went to the hidden place underneath the apple tree in hope of finding horseradish or wasabi in the kitchen. They couldn't find it, so they decided that they would rather die together, reading their parent's writing. Luckily, they wrote about the bitter apples filled with the spice needed to defeat the dangerous fungi.
9. What happened to the Quagmire Triplets?

Answer: We don't know

Kit met up with the Quagmire triplets, Captin Widdershins, Fiona and her brother, but the mysterious Question Mark appeared. Instead of waiting and finding out what it was, Kit escaped, but what happened to the others after being swallowed by the Question Mark...?
10. Who did Kit Snicket want her baby to be named after?

Answer: The Baudelaire's mother or father

Beatrice is the Baudelaire's mother's name. Kit requested that the baby should be named after either of the Baudelaire's parents. Finally, we realise that the Beatrice who Lemony Snicket always writes about is...
