2. For Children: "The Beagle Boys" are a criminal group from a well-known cartoon. They have at times targeted Mickey Mouse, but which character has been their main focus over the years?

Answer: Scrooge McDuck

3. Geography: Beagle Bay is a community founded by Trappist Monks in what island nation?

Answer: Australia

Beagle Bay, an Aboriginal community located in Western Australia, was founded in 1890. It was a haven for children separated or stolen from their native homes. 4. Humanities: The origin of the word "beagle" is not definitive. Which of the following characteristics of the beagle is suspected to have lead to an influence on its etymology?

Answer: The dog's distinctive bay

The French terms "be'geule" (meaning "gape throat") and "beugler" (meaning "to bellow") both suggest that the dog's distinctive bay while hunting has lead to its name today. A second thought is that the beagle's name might have come from is its size. The Celtic "beag," the Old English "begele" and the French "beigh" all suggest that "beagle" could be based from a word that means "small."
