The most notable event involving Madam Mim in "The Sword in the Stone" was the "Wizards' Duel" against Merlin. It's a duel in which both Merlin and Mim combat one another by changing into a variety of animals that could destroy one another. Eventually Mim breaks the rules and disappears. When she reappears she is a dragon ready to defeat Merlin, however, Merlin cleverly changes himself into a virus, infects Mim and defeats her.

John Sebastian wrote the lyrics to "Do You Believe in Magic" (1965) which was the first single from The Lovin' Spoonful's album "Do You Believe in Magic". This song became the number nine hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Lovin' Spoonful consisted of John Sebastian, Zal Yanovsky, Jerry Yester, Joe Butler and Steve Boone.
