Pete Seeger's position as an icon of folk music remains assured. Born into a fairly well-off family, Seeger turned his back on a "normal' middle class life to take to the road picking up and singing traditional songs from throughout his native America. He was involved with workers' rights, civil rights and espoused the environmental cause long before it was popular. Some of the songs he wrote or developed have entered mainstream consciousness; songs like "We Shall Overcome"; "If I Had a Hammer" and "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?"

The first sentence in the question is borrowed from one of the most famous lines in the original "Italian Job" movie (1969). Peter Graves was born on March 18th 1926 in Minneapolis Minnesota. He was best known for playing Jim Phelps, the boss of the Impossible Missions team in the TV series "Mission: Impossible" broadcast from from 1967 to 1973, and again from 1988 to 1990. (Graves was not the first IM team boss, Steven Hill was). Graves had earlier found fame in the TV show "Whiplash" (1960 and 1961). Among his movies roles were "Stalag 17" (1953); "The Night of the Hunter" (1955); "Airplane!" (1980); "Addams Family Values" (1993); and "Men in Black II" (2002).

Peter lived at the London ground Lord's from 1952 to 1964. The 1965 edition of Wisden recorded his obituary thus: "CAT, Peter, whose ninth life ended on November 5, 1964, was a well-known cricket-watcher at Lord's, where he spent 12 of his 14 years.

He preferred a close-up view of the proceedings and his sleek, black form could often be seen prowling on the field of play when the crowds were biggest." His was the first animal obituary ever to appear in Wisden.
