Cod is a general name for several types of Atlantic and Pacific cold water whitefish. The fish is distinguished by a long chin barbel, three rounded dorsal and two anal fins. They also have a distinctive thin white stripe running the side of the fish from throat to tail. Atlantic Cod, which are classified as 'vulnerable' due to overfishing, usually weigh from eleven to twenty five pounds though much larger ones have been caught. Atlantic cod are able to change color at varying depths of sea water.

Answer: Cape Cod

It's Cape Cod! A beautiful place to visit, and a great tourist attraction for its sunning, fishing, and picturesque places to stay, including the typical "Cape Cod Cottage", a cozy and compact rectangular dwelling, oftimes with a small second floor, central chimney and steep gable roof.

The preferred places are on the water, of course! In New England, one always 'goes down' to the Cape, regardless of which direction one arrives from. Cape Canaveral, a.k.a. Cape Kennedy, is the NASA launching site on the coast in northern Florida. Cape Hatteras is off North Carolina, and Cape May is at the southernmost tip of New Jersey.

Candling is passing eggs, usually those sold as food, past a strong light which will allow one to see if there is any sign of fetus development. If so, that egg cannot go to market.

Codling is the term for both a baby cod, a small hake {fish} and a small unripe apple. There is also a codling moth, whose larvae live in apples, pears and English walnuts.
In spawning grounds the northeast Atlantic cods lay eggs anytime between January and April at a depth of about six hundred feet where water temperatures are around 39 to 43 degrees F - 4 to 6 degrees C. - and the eggs hatch anywhere from 8 to 23 days later.

Codeine, used properly and following medical advice, is a very useful drug and rarely causes complications. The two 'Oxy' drugs are also pain killers, but have also become 'street drugs' where they are very expensive. A codon is a specific sequence of three consecutive nucleotides, part of one's genetic code.

Codicil - it's like a little string attached, perhaps an afterthought on the part of the testator. In other words, if you're in the will {or expect to be}, stay on good terms with the person who made it or you may find out too late that you were left out in the cold because you displeased the dearly deceased.

Answer: Covering for the opening in a man's breeches

The codpiece was made variously of a flap of cloth, wood, armor, depending on what pursuit the man was following, primarily to protect his sensitive areas and to allow him to release same for the purpose of passing water. It became stylish and 'manly' to wear this ornament, and some were very ornate. Note that Alex and his 'Droogs' wore them in "A Clockwork Orange."

To pamper, spoil, or cater to in an unhealthy way, as it tends to oversensitize the coddled. My Dad thought he was mollycoddling me when he insisted I swallow a spoonful of cod liver oil before going outside in the winter. I thought it was gross.

Many composers use codas to finish their works off with a bang, not a whimper.
