Answer: Riders of the Purple Sage

Zane Grey combined a career as a prolific author of, mainly Western-set, adventure books, with the job of a dentist. He wrote more than 90 books, and over 100 movies were made based on them. Grey's best known book was "Riders of the Purple Sage", a 1912 novel that was a big influence on subsequent authors in the Western genre. The novel includes cattle rustling, kidnapping and shooting, against the background of the Mormon pioneers. Adapted 5 times into movies, "Riders of the Purple Sage" is said to be the most popular Western novel ever written.

5. Les Gray sang "Tiger Feet" and "Dyna-mite" as part of what British glam rock group of the 70s?

Answer: Mud

Mud formed in Carshalton, Greater London, in 1966. They took a few years to become successful, having their first big hit with the Chinn and Chapman penned "Dyna-mite" in 1973. Further success with the same songwriters followed in 1974, when "Tiger Feet" and "Lonely This Christmas" both hit #1 in the UK. Les Gray was the front man of Mud, singing in a style reminiscent of Elvis Presley. He left the band in 1978, and it disbanded in 1979. He toured with a group known as "Les Gray's Mud" with varying line-ups, none of which included his former Mud bandmates, until his death in 2004.

Born in 1975 in Pennsylvania, Bradley Cooper's first movie was "Wet Hot American Summer" (2001). For "Silver Linings Playbook" (2012), Cooper was executive producer as well as lead actor. The movie and Cooper were nominated for multiple awards, and co-star Jennifer Lawrence picked up the Academy Award for best leading actress. "Silver Linings Playbook" is a romantic comedy about a man released from a psychiatric institution who aims to win back his ex-wife and is helped by a young widow.

The grey squirrel, also known as the eastern gray squirrel, is a native of the eastern and mid-western USA. It is an adaptable and intelligent squirrel, that is able to make a success of living in various habitats, including towns and suburbs alongside humans. When the grey squirrel was introduced to Britain, it displaced the shyer red squirrel for various reasons - its adaptability, the ability to better store fat, and also carrying the squirrelpox disease, which red squirrels were susceptible to. The grey squirrel came to be classed by the British as vermin. Meanwhile the red squirrel moved to small isolated enclaves, such as the islands of Brownsea, Anglesey, and the Isle of Wight.

David Soul, born in Chicago in 1943, first found fame as a singer with a gimmick of wearing a mask, on the "Merv Griffin Show" in the 1960s. He acted in movies, appearing as the villain opposite Clint Eastwood in "Magnum Force" (1973), then found massive success on TV in "Starsky and Hutch" (1975-1979). Soul played detective Ken Hutchinson alongside Paul Michael Glaser as his partner David Starsky. The show was hugely successful, and Soul used the platform it gave him to resurrect his singing career, having hits with "Don't Give Up on Us" and "Going in with My Eyes Open" (both 1976), and "Silver Lady" (1977).

Grey Goose was developed as a vodka to make the best of fine French produce. Soft winter wheat from Picardy and spring water that had passed through limestone from the Cognac region were used. The vodka won numerous awards and became a popular premium vodka worldwide.

Henry Gray (1827-1861) was a British doctor and anatomist who won prizes for his publications on the nerves and structure of the eye and a dissertation on the spleen. He became a fellow of the Royal Society when aged only 25. Gray published the first edition of his "Anatomy" in 1858. The book has run to over 40 editions and became known as the "doctor's Bible".

The spleen has many functions to do with red blood cells. In addition to removing old blood cells, it holds a reserve of blood in case of emergencies.
