Answer: Rifle

8. Peter Falk is famous for his role as Lieutenant Columbo, soft-spoken and rumpled, but always able to catch the criminal. The television series was only one portrayal of the character. Which of these other actors did NOT play the role of Columbo in its various incarnations?

Answer: Bing Crosby

Created by William Link, the character of Lt. Columbo was first played by Bert Freed in a 1960 episode of "The Chevy Mystery Show" entitled "Enough Rope".

That episode was adapted into a 1962 stage play renamed "Prescription: Murder" which starred Thomas Mitchell.

A made-for-TV movie was released in 1968 by the same name that starred Peter Falk, along with the subsequent series that ran regularly from 1971 until 1978, then again much more sporadically from 1989 until 2003. Originally, the writers suggested Lee J. Cobb and Bing Crosby as possible actors for the role.

In 2010, the original 1962-version stage play was revived in the United Kingdom with the role being filled by Dirk Benedict.

10. The long-running BBC show "Eastenders" celebrated its 25th anniversary by revealing the identity of the person who bludgeoned Archie Mitchell. The show was presented live (the first time ever done so) and even the cast was kept unaware of the killer's identity until it was revealed. Who killed Archie?

Answer: Stacey Slater

To ensure that the mystery was not revealed before its airing, the writers penned ten different endings, with each of the possible killers rehearsing their parts, not knowing who would actually be the real killer.

"For months before his murder villainous Archie, played by Larry Lamb, 62, had alienated many people in Walford. So there were a huge number of possible culprits, including his wife Peggy Mitchell, played by Barbara Windsor; former lover Janine; Archie's blackmailer Ian Beale; his daughters Roxy and Ronnie, and Bradley Branning, who discovered he had raped his girlfriend Stacey Slater." - quote from ok.co.uk
