Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. WORLD: Which brand of rum, that originated in Australia, uses a polar bear as its advertising mascot?

Answer: Bundaberg Rum

The presence of the polar bear is meant to imply that Bundaberg Rum (Bundy) has the power to "ward off the coldest of winter chills". Bundaberg first began to produce rum in 1888 and in 2000 was sold to the giant alcohol distributor Diageo plc.
2. VIDEO GAMES: (Spoiler Alert) In the story line for the 'Ghost Bear's Legacy', an expansion pack for the computer game 'Mech Warrior 2' who is responsible for stealing the genetic material from the clan founders?

Answer: The Jade Wolves

(Spoiler Alert) This game has a very convoluted story line. It initially appears that the Draconis Combine were the culprits, however, as you dig deeper you will find that they are being framed by Clan Smoke Jaguar. Then, however, it gets murkier. You will uncover that Clan Smoke Jaguar had, in fact, lost the 'Battlemechs' that were being used to the Clan Wolf. Clan Wolf, we discover, is split into two factions - the 'Crusaders' and the 'Clan-in-Exile'. Ultimately it is proven that the Jade Wolves, who are a pair of renegades from the 'Crusader' Wolf Clan, were responsible.

The harvesting of bear bile is both a cruel and distressing procedure for the animal.
6. RELIGION: Daniel, in his visions (Daniel 7:5), saw 'four great beasts come up out of the sea'. The bear was one of these. What did the bear have between its teeth?

With a love big as the sky
Running Bear loved Little White Dove
With a love that couldn't die"

9. MOVIES: 'Bad News Bears' (1976 version) tells the story of a former minor league baseball player given the task of coaching a near hopeless children's baseball team. Which child star played the role of the fast pitching Amanda Whurlitzer in this movie?

'The Bad News Bears' was Tatum's second feature movie role and her first after winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of nine. Tatum was, at one time, married to tennis champion John McEnroe. The movie spawned two sequels and was re-made in 2005 with Sammi Kane Kraft reprising the role of Amanda.
10. LITERATURE: What is the name of the seventy (70) foot cyborg bear in Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' series?

Answer: Shardik
