Did you know?

- Sarajevo features their namesake "Sarajevo Roses" which are red resin-filled craters left by mortar shells, transformed into war memorials.

- Banja Luka is surrounded by the ruins of several medieval fortresses including Vrbas, Zupa Zemljanik, Kotor Varos, Zvecaj, and Bocac.

- Tuzla is home to Europe's only salt lake as part of its central park and has more than 350,000 people visiting its shores annually.

- Zenica features the Bobovac Fortress which was built during the 14th century and served as the seat of the Bosnian kings. The remains of the royal palace, including the throne room, living quarters, and a chapel are open for viewing.

- Bijeljina was involved in a massacre of civilians (48-78 verified deaths) by Serb paramilitary groups in April 1992 in the run-up to the Bosnian War. It was perpetrated by the Serb Volunteer Guard controlled by Zeljko Raznatović who was responsible for numerous war crimes.
