- Balzers is the home of the Gutenberg Castle (Burg Gutenberg), which was built in the 12th century on a rocky hill in the center of the village. It began its existence as a medieval church and cemetery but was repurposed and converted into a fortification.

- Eschen's name comes from the intensive cultivation of Tüergga (maize) which was used in making Rebel, a corn dish that was a daily staple. Today, it goes into the specialties of Tüerggabrot and Rebelkuchen.
