Did you know?

- Podgorica features the ruins of Doclea, an ancient Roman town. It is believed that the Roman Emperor Diocletian hailed from this area.

- Niksic is the origin of Niksicko beer where production first started in 1896. It is produced at the Trebjesa brewery and nowadays large quantities of Niksicko beer are exported to France, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, and England.

- Bar is home to one of the oldest olive trees in Europe, which is over 2,000 years old. The tree's circumference is about 10 meters (about 33 feet).

- Bijelo Polje features the Church of St. Peter the Apostle which was built in 1196 before the Ottoman invasion. When it was converted into a mosque, the church lost its towers. When it became a church once again, they were restored.

- Herceg Novi's most famous tourist attraction is the Mare Fortress (locally known as Forte Mare). It was initially built by the 1st Bosnian king Tvrtko I, back in 1382.
