3. Which of the Earth's continents contains regions called, "blue-ice areas"?

Answer: Antarctica

Blue-ice areas occur in Antarctica where they make up about 1% of the ice area, although similar phenomena have been reported in Greenland. These areas, which may be more than two million years old, can be used as aircraft runways. In areas with high wind speeds and low precipitation, loss of mass from the ice leaves a smooth blue-coloured surface. One noteworthy aspect of blue-ice areas is that meteorites (which may have fallen elsewhere) accumulate in them.
