Black sand beaches are created when a volcano erupts and the lava spills into the ocean. The lava is cooled instantaneously, hardening and then exploding into tiny fragments. As time goes on, many of the fragments further splinter, becoming as small as grains of sand. Black sand beaches are not easily replaced, however, so many countries who are lucky enough to have one of these wonders make it illegal to take black sand souvenirs.

I would want to travel to Argentina. Patagonia is a large geographic region located in the southern part of South America. It includes the countries of Argentina and Chile. The word Patagonia comes from the Portuguese word "patagon" which means giant people.

The indigenous population of this area averaged 8-9 inches taller than the Europeans who had arrived and were about to change the Americas forever.
