8. What is unique about the Sargasso Sea?

Answer: It has no land boundaries

While all other seas in the world are defined at least in part by land boundaries, the Sargasso Sea is defined only by ocean currents. The Gulf Stream establishes the Sargasso Sea's western boundary, while the Sea is further defined to the north by the North Atlantic Current, to the east by the Canary Current, and to the south by the North Atlantic Equatorial Current.

The Sargasso Sea is named for a type of seaweed, sargassum, that grows on top of the water.

Answer: inside glaciers

According to the U.S. Geological Society, approximately 68.7% of the world's freshwater is stored inside glaciers, ice sheets, and ice caps. Approximately 30.1% of the earth's freshwater is groundwater, such as aquifers. That means just 1.2% of all freshwater is surface water, such as in lakes and rivers.
