It is found south of China as the name already suggests and borders countries like Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines. Laos is a landlocked country, meaning that it is completely surrounded by other countries. It does not border the South China Sea.

The names used for this sea differ depending on which country you ask. It is sometimes called the South Sea, but is also referenced as the East Sea. The sea is very frequently used, so many countries claim it as their territory, most notably China and Taiwan.

The Andaman Sea is located in Southeast Asia. It officially forms a part of the Indian Ocean and is to be found near Myanmar (Burma), Thailand and India (specifically the Andaman Islands). On the southeastern part of the sea it narrows to form the Strait of Malacca, the strait that separates the Malay Peninsula from the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

The Strait of Malacca was named after the former sultanate of Malacca, a kingdom established in 1402. It ended when it was invaded by the Portuguese in 1511. The Strait of Malacca has been the scene of piracy, so Jolly Joe and his crew could face some competition, perhaps.

The Arabian Sea forms part of the Indian Ocean. It can be found west of India and to the east of the Arabian Peninsula. The Gulf of Oman connects the Arabian Sea to the Persian Gulf, lying east of the Arabian Peninsula. The sea is bordered by countries such as Iran, Pakistan and Oman.

The Gulf of Oman is a strait that connects the Arabian Sea first to the Strait of Hormuz and to the Persian Gulf thereafter. It is often considered to be part of the Persian Gulf.

Answer: Egypt

The Red Sea is located between the continents of Africa and Asia. From the south one enters the sea via the Gulf of Aden, connecting the sea to the Indian Ocean. To the north the sea leads to the Gulf of Suez, and is connected via this gulf and the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea.

On the northern side the pirates will locate the Sinai Peninsula, currently part of Egypt. Part of Egypt therefore is located officially on the Asian continent. Several conflicts have arisen over this location with Israel occupying it at least two times in history. After a peace treaty between Egypt and Israel in 1979, Israel gave up rights on the Sinai Peninsula. Today it is a popular tourist destination. The Black Sea is an inland sea located between the continents of Europe and Asia. On the western and northern side it is bordered by European countries like Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine. On the eastern and southern side it is bordered by Asian countries like Georgia, Russia and Turkey.

On the southwestern side the Bosphorus Strait connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. This strait is also called the Istanbul Strait, due to its location near this city. It is considered the world's smallest strait. On both sides of the Bosphorus Strait there are parts of the city of Istanbul, with several bridges connecting both parts and therefore also connecting the European part of Turkey with the Asian part of this country.

The Mediterranean Sea is located between the continents of Europe and Africa. It is officially a part of the Atlantic Ocean, but is mostly seen as a separate body of water. Traditionally it forms a busy trade route, but due to the favourable climate near the sea it is also an important tourist destination.

The island of Sicily is the biggest island located in the Mediterranean Sea. The island is one of the regions of Italy. It is separated from the mainland by the Strait of Messina. The capital of the region is Palermo, a city founded in 735 BC.

The North Sea is a small sea forming part of the Atlantic Ocean. It is bordered by Great Britain, Scandinavia and the Netherlands for instance. To the south is the English Channel and to the north it is bordered by the Norwegian Sea.

Several rivers are a primary source for the North Sea. These rivers include the Thames, the Rhine and the Elbe. The Ebro is a primary source for the Mediterranean Sea. It is one of the major rivers of Spain.

Answer: Gulf of Odessa

The Baltic Sea is located in Northern Europe, bordered by Scandinavia and the Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It is considered one of the largest brackish bodies of water. A brackish body of water contains water with a higher level of salinity than fresh water.

Several gulfs border the Baltic Sea, but are often also considered to be a part of the sea. The Gulf of Odessa forms a part of the Black Sea.
