The Curtiss Candy Company originally named the bar the "Kandy Kake". It was remodeled and renamed "Baby Ruth" in 1921. Curtiss claimed it was named for US President Cleveland's daughter Ruth. The Curtiss Company was sold to Nabisco in 1981 and they sold to Nestle in 1990.

Sugar Baby watermelons can reach maturity in eighty five days or less and are a great variety to try if you live in zones 5 or 6, possibly even cooler zones. Watermelons thrive in hot weather requiring 8-10 hours of direct sun, and 1-2 inches of rain a week.
