Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which species, according to their faction sheet, was the first to have achieved space flight?

Answer: The Clan of Saar

The Clan of Saar faction sheet opens with, "Few historians dispute that the Saar were the first of the known races to venture into space..." Despite the early lead in spaceflight, the Saar are treated poorly by the other races, often seen as no more than vermin or cheap labour. They became a nomadic race after frequently being ousted from the worlds they settled.
2. In the game, the Clan of Saar's homeworld is "Lisis II." What happened to the original Lisis?

Answer: Lisis was annexed by the Sardakk N'orr

Lisis was the largest known Saar colony when it was taken by the Sardakk N'orr (with the population presumably massacred). The Saar still mourn the loss of Lisis with chants, special jewelry, and by burning bugs (effigies of the N'orr) during holy days.
3. Which faction created the malevolent Nekro Virus?

Answer: The L1Z1X Mindnet

There Nekro movement in the L1Z1X wanted to replace all biomass with machine parts. Followers augmented themselves and their fellow L1Z1X against their will, leading to a civil war. While the war lasted only 5 years, it took the L1Z1X 500 years to fully recover.
4. In the game, the Nekro Virus' homeworld is "Mordai II." What was the original Mordai?

Answer: A person

Mordai was a L1Z1X genius and leader, often using himself as a test subject when making new enhancements. A software bug in one of these enhancements started eroding Mordai's sanity, and he began to excise as much of his remaining biomass as possible, replacing it with machine parts. This was the beginning of the Nekro movement and civil war.

The Nekro movement lost the war, but a wayward piece of machinery managed to escape the planet, wander for hundreds of years, and begin again when it found a new mineral-rich home, calling it Mordai II.
5. Which faction has a homeworld with no sun?

Answer: The Barony of Letnev

The Barony faction sheet states that their disposition is "disdainful," which tracks for a species that evolved on the sunless Arc Prime. A grey fungus/plant organism called Ao creates oxygen for the planet, and most population centres are underground, avoiding even the light of the stars.
6. The "recently" discovered Naalu Collective were already good allies with which other faction?

Answer: The Yssaril Tribes

The Naalu revealed themselves during the Twilight Wars (when the Lazax Empire was destroyed), despite not living in a particularly hidden section of space. It turns out they were using their telepathy or military to maintain their secrecy while it suited them. The Yssaril, as natural assassins, were useful allies in this endeavour.
7. What is the most numerous species in the galaxy?

Answer: Humans

The Federation of Sol faction sheet states, "The humans themselves represent the most numerous and most diverse species of the galaxy." While only 16.44 billion are present in humanity's home system, they have spread far. There are more N'orr in the Sardakk system, at 28.71 billion, but they do not have the same reach. The Arborec, as a hive mind, is listed as having a population of 1.
8. On the Nekro Virus faction sheet is a string of 1s and 0s. When converted to text (ASCII), what does it spell?

Answer: "system_erDIErorDIEDIEDIE"

The Nekro Virus faction sheet just has "_error" for its population, government type, surface type, surface temperature, and surface area. In the box where flavour text would appear, it's just a string of 1s and 0s that spells out this message.
9. What is the name given to the Arborec linked consciousness?

Answer: The Symphony

The Arborec call their network "The Symphony," with the prime Symphony on their homeworld, Nestphar. When Arborec ships or organism leave the system, they create a smaller local network, and when they return, their memories are added to the collective whole.
10. The capital planet at the centre of the galaxy, Mecatol Rex, was the Lazax homeworld.

Answer: No

After defeating the Mahact Kings, the Lazax established their own empire, placing the seat of government on the centrally located Mecatol Rex. In the "Lore Compendium," in "The Rise of Legend" story, it's stated, "[The Lazax] chose Mecatol Rex as the seat of their fledgling Empire, abandoning an ancestral homeworld that has since been lost to the mists of time."
