The Hylar can be found working with other factions, such as the Mentak Coalition, the Barony of Letnev (in the novel "The Fractured Void" by Tim Pratt), and the L1Z1X.

Answer: Gashlai

The Gashlai are energy beings who need to wear special suits to leave their homeworld. Their suits run hot compared to the other species they interact with, and their eyes glow.

Answer: Jord

Christian T. Petersen, the creator of "Twilight Imperium," is from Denmark, where the word for Earth is "Jord." By the time "Twilight Imperium" takes place, hamanity's cultures have truly mixed; the capital is New Moscow, and the current leader is named Juan Salvador Tao.

The Emirates of Hacan were the only faction with three planets in their home system in the base game. When the expansion, "Prophecy of Kings," was released in 2020, the Argent Flight became the second faction to have three home planets.

The Tekklar elite troops are the strongest in the galaxy. In the game, Sardakk players apply a +1 to every combat die roll they make, and their promissory note, "Tekklar Legion," lets them grant this ability to other players.

According to the Barony of Letnev faction sheet, their soldiers are the second strongest in the galaxy.

The Letani are said to be larger than elephants. When Arborec ships travel away from their home system, a Letani hosts a smaller instance of the hive mind to control local units.

The Arborec have special ground forces called "Letani Warriors" that have a chance to reconstitute themselves when killed, and their mech units (from "The Prophecy of Kings" expansion) are called "Letani Behemoths."

Answer: Valefire Assimilators

Most technology that can be researched is from a generic deck, with each faction having one or two unique technologies. The Nekro Virus does not research its own technology, instead copying other factions' technologies whenever it destroys a unit it combat.

When the Nekro Virus copies a generic technology, it just pulls that card from its own copy of the generic deck. But if it wants to copy a faction's specific technology (where there is only one card), it uses one of its two Valefire Assimilators, which act as a copy of a unique faction technology.

Answer: Ixth

In the base game, Ixth is a lost planet with religious significance. One agenda card can even declare an existing planet to be Ixth, granting a victory point to whichever faction holds it.

The true nature of Ixth was revealed in "The Prophecy of Kings" expansion. It was actually a prison planet for the Mahact, the malevolent rulers of the galaxy who preceded the Lazax. The Mahact are a playable faction in the expansion, and their home system is Ixth.

Answer: Greyfire

Darien Van Hauge lost both his children to the Greyfire wasting disease and promised to find a cure. He used the ethically dubious and outlawed practice of cloning for his research, for which he was chased off Jord. When his wife also succumbed to Greyfire, he extracted a final egg, fertilized it, and cloned it thousands of times.

He was able to lessen the effects of Greyfire, but never fully cured it before his death. These clones, with their ravaged bodies, created a new society, continued to create new members, and became the Yin Brotherhood.
