Murtagh's Visit to Gil'ead Trivia Quiz

Answer: A secluded hollow

After fleeing Cuenon due to a fight he was involved in where the city guard intervened, Murtagh finds himself flying towards Gil'ead on his dragon Thorn for information. Little does Murtagh know what will happen when he gets there.

As Murtagh sits in a safe place he assesses the risks. He is afraid he will be recognized and restrained, if not killed, due to the fact that the Lord of this city has seen Murtagh before during the war the Varden had against the empire.

Answer: An oak tree

It is traditional, when an elf (or dragon, in this case) dies, that the elves bury him or her and plant a tree above them. The trees planted can vary from pine to even maple trees.

Answer: A Silver and a Crown

Murtagh must contact someone in Gil'ead, but fears recognition, so he hires a page. The fickle page tells about Murtagh, and takes his coin as well!

Answer: Carabel the werecat

Right before a bunch of soldiers from Gil'ead come to capture him, a strange man named Bertolf, an acquaintance of the werecat Carabel, says to Murtagh that he has been summoned, and he follows. What other option does he have?

Answer: Find a missing werecat kitten

As Murtagh listens to what the werecat Carabel has to say, he realizes that what he is being charged with is far more complicated than he thought. It started as a simple mission, and ended as a nightmare.

Answer: A giant sturgeon

After finding out his task is to rescue a Werecat kitten, Murtagh starts right away, all in the pursuit of information. Afterwards he finds out that the task is way more than he signed up for, because he was never told he would have to wrestle a giant fish all around a lake.

Answer: A scale

Murtagh is informed that to fulfill his task, he must catch a giant fish, but to catch the fish he must steal a part of Glaedr from his burial site, as that's the only bait the fish will go for. Irony has a grim sense of humor.

Answer: To join the city guard

To complete his mission and rescue the werecat kitten, Murtagh needs information that he can only obtain if he joins the city guard. He can't fail. He won't fail.

Answer: Muckmaw

The giant sturgeon Muckmaw has killed many a fisherman, and has been caught by none. No hooks have ever sunk into this accursed fish's hide. The city guard has a reward posted that says that they will give money and a position on the city guard to anyone who captures Muckmaw. To rescue the werecat kitten he has been told to rescue he must catch this fish so that he can join the city guard. Will Murtagh catch it, or be its next meal?

Answer: Raz'ac

As Murtagh stalks under the city of Gil'ead, via tunnels, he finds all kinds of curious things. Not all of them have pleasant implications. The egg he finds down there is a Raz'ac, a birdlike man-eating creature that was supposed to be extinct but now might begin a new reign of terror.

Answer: A goat

Murtagh falls asleep after a long day by the side of Glaedr's tomb, and wakes up to searing pain, and then all he sees are the strange eyes of ... a goat? A goat, yes a goat. After Murtagh recognizes it, he quickly thrusts the goat aside with magic.

Answer: Task

Murtagh is in trouble, no surprise, after fleeing from Cuenon; he can't use his sword fighting instructor's name, so he makes up one. This is no normal trouble though, these trials may be the very things that will break Murtagh.

Answer: Silna

Before he can leave Gil'ead, Murtagh must take Silna, after rescuing her from the cavern at the bottom of the city guard barracks where she had been kidnapped, back to Carabel the werecat, in order to get the information he had been promised.

Answer: To her mother

Before Murtagh bolts out of the city he completes the mission assigned to him: rescue and drop off Silna. He then got the information promised him by Carabel when she gave him this dark and mysterious mission. Only then, of course, does he run.
