Ganiel is in the last book quite a lot, but then again, so is Weiryn. As far as I know, there is no 'God of Nature' in Tortall or any on the surrounding lands (although the Yamanis might have one). If you pay attention to the second and third books, you can figure this out on your own.

In 'Wolf-Speaker', the huntsman uses an oath with Weiryn's name in it, and explains to her that he is the Hunt God. On the way to Carthak in the third book, the badger shows up and mentions Weiryn's name. Daine recognizes it, but can't remember where she's heard it before.

Answer: The baby kept shape-shifting even before it was born

When Daine's mother turned up for the baby's christening, she picked it up and told it to pick a sex and shape and stick to it for at least five years, and learn the limits of one body. The baby decided on a human girl. Sarra then told Daine to not shape-shift when she was pregnant, as it gave the baby ideas (and she had no such problems with Rikash, her second child, so I'm guessing it worked!)

Skysong, mostly called Kitten by Daine and friends, was the young of the dragonz whom Daine helped in 'Wild Magic'. After the dragon died, Daine somehow knows that she has to go to a particular spot and find Kitten. When someone asks her the dragon's name, she immediately answers 'Skysong', and supposes that the mother dragon must have planted the information in her mind.
