Answer: heroin and child pornography

After visiting Happy Harry's bar for some info and breaking a guy's fingers and turning up nothing, Rorschach writes in his journal: "I leave the human cockroaches to discuss their heroin and child pornography. I have business elsewhere, with a better class of person." That person would be Adrian Veidt.

Answer: Are you sure?

Kovacs, better known as Rorschach, carries a sign that says 'The End is Nigh.' He told Bernard the day before that the world was going to end and the next day Bernard points out to him that it didn't. Kovacs says, "Are you sure?" The day before Jon, aka Dr. Manhattan, left Earth which escalates the race toward WWIII.

Answer: the fat man

Jon, while building his fortress on Mars, says, "Without me, things would have been different. If the fat man hadn't crushed the watch, if I hadn't left it in the test chamber.... Am I to blame then? Or the fat man? Or my father, for choosing my career? Which of us is responsible? Who makes the world?"

Answer: I don't like you

Rorschach tells his doc, "You keep calling me Walter. I don't like you." Dr. Long asks why and he replies, "Fat. Wealthy. Think you understand pain. I'll tell you something, doctor. I'll tell you about Rorschach."

Answer: impotent

Dan tells Laurie, "It's this war, the feeling that it's unavoidable. It makes me feel so powerless. So impotent." Dan is actually naked except for the goggles, showing how vulnerable he really is, and goes on to tell her, "I came down here for my costume. I dunno, I feel worried, confused. I just need to take the air, to blow away the cobwebs..." And with that, Laurie and Dan suit up and go save some lives.

Answer: Small world

Big Figure was put in prison by Rorschach and comes to put some fear into his old nemesis. Rorschach greets his enemy with, "Big Figure. Small world." The pun is in the fact that Big Figure is a man of little stature, and Big Figure goes on to tell Rorschach that he will die by inches. Rorschach's reply? "Tall order."

Answer: puppet

Jon tells Laurie everything is preordained, even his responses when she asks why he looked surprised when 'Nova Express' accused him of giving his friends cancer. Laurie says, "And you just go through the motions, acting them out? Is that what you are? The most powerful thing in the universe and you're just a puppet following a script?" Jon replies, "We're all puppets, Laurie. I'm just a puppet who can see the strings."

Answer: Only once

Edward Blake, aka The Comedian, tells Laurie, "Only once." Laurie throws a drink in his face, thinking he meant only once was better than if he had done it twice or fifty times. Later she understands what he really meant by those words.

Answer: republic serial villain

Ozymandias tells him, "'Do it?' Dan, I'm not a republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my masterstroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome? I did it thirty-five minutes ago."

Answer: Nothing ever ends.

Jon has decided to leave the galaxy for one less complicated, but Adrian asks him, "I did the right thing, didn't I? It all worked out in the end." Jon says, "'In the end?' Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends." With that Jon leaves, never to be seen again.
