Directed by Norman Jewison, this incredibly powerful movie took home 5 Academy Awards. Sadly none of those awards was for the amazing Sidney Poitier, whose performance should not be missed. Rod Steiger did win an Oscar for his portrayal of the red-necked Police Chief, who learns a lot about the folly of his own prejudices.
