1. (1974) While snowbound on a luxury train in Europe, the impeccably groomed Hercule Poirot must solve a murder. There isn't any shortage of suspects though, in fact there seems to be one suspect for every one of the stab wounds that the victim received.
2. (1991) When Victoria agrees to baby-sit her new boyfriend's 13 year-old for a while, she gets more than she bargained for. Before she knows it the boyfriend is murdered, and the daughter is engaging her services as a private investigator to find out who killed her father.
3. (1979) Sherlock Holmes solves the Jack the Ripper murders, in this excellent film that has Holmes uncovering a conspiracy amid the British government to commit the murders, because of a forbidden royal marriage, and the resultant child.

He offers a million dollars to the one who can solve a murder scheduled to occur at midnight. But then the butler turns up dead, long before the appointed time. Sometimes funny, sometimes silly, this movie spoofs the heavy-handed detective stories that were once so popular.
5. (1993) Fresh out of law school, Mitch McDeere accepts a job offer that seems too good to be true, with a law firm in Memphis. He soon discovers that the firm's number one client is the Mafia, and that no lawyer has ever quit the firm and lived to tell the tale. He enlists the help of Eddie Lomax, a P.I. with connections to his brother, to help investigate the firm, and help him find a way out.
6. (1941) Detective Sam Spade must investigate the murder of his partner, while trying to find the life-sized statue of a bird that seems to be linked to the murder, and is rumoured to be filled with jewels. And he has to accomplish all this while keeping the police off his back.
7. (2000) Three female private investigators are hired to retrieve some stolen software, or so they initially believe. But it soon turns out that things are not what they were lead to believe, and they find themselves in the position of having to protect their boss. The only problem is, they've never actually met him before, because he's never been more than a voice on the speaker phone.
8. (1988) What if Sherlock Holmes wasn't the brilliant detective that we all believe him to have been? What if the real brains behind the operation was Dr. Watson, and Holmes was nothing more than a drunken actor hired to fill the role? And what if Watson wanted to rid himself of the troublesome Holmes, but found that he couldn't get anyone to take him seriously?
9. (1961) While travelling by train, Miss Marple witnesses a murder that takes place on a train passing by, going in the opposite direction. But when she takes her story to the police no one believes her, because there is no body to substantiate her claim.
10. (1988) Ever since Eddie Valiant's brother was killed by a Toon, his life seems to have been on a downward spiral. Now, to make matters worse, Roger (who is also a Toon) has been framed for murder, and poor Eddie seems to be the only one who can prove that he was framed.
