Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 3 M and a B

Answer: Three Men and a Baby

"Three Men and a Baby" (1987) is a comedy revolving around the story of three bachelors struggling to bring up a baby which has been abandoned on their doorstep, with a note indicating that one of the men is the child's father. It stars Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson as the three men - and the movie has a happy ending with the return of the mother of the baby (Mary) who moves into the apartment to join the group.
2. 3 C in the F

Answer: Three Coins in the Fountain

"Three Coins in the Fountain", which was released in 1954, tells the story of three girls looking for romance whilst working in Rome. It's since been remade twice in other forms, one as a musical in 1964 starring Ann-Margret, and the other as a television movie in 1990 starring Loni Anderson.

The original starred Clifton Webb, Dorothy McGuire, Jean Peters, Louis Jourdan, Maggie McNamara and Rossano Brazzi.
3. 50 First D

Answer: 50 First Dates

"50 First Dates" is a 2004 romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler as a lovelorn veterinarian and Drew Barrymore who has a form of amnesia where she cannot remember him from day to day. It has a more or less happy ending where they sail off into the sunset, with Barrymore waking up every day to watch a video reminding her of what has happened previously.
4. 2 M for S S

Answer: Two Mules for Sister Sara

Starring Clint Eastwood and Shirley MacLaine, this 1970 film features a plot where Clintwood saves MacLaine, a nun, from being raped by Mexican revolutionaries. After many adventures where Clintwood finally gets MacLaine to her destination, it is revealed she is not a nun after all (surprise, surprise) but a prostitute working as a spy for the goodies.

The two protagonists gallop off together at the close of the movie, looking for more adventures together.
5. The M 7

Answer: The Magnificent Seven

This is a 1960 western about a group of hired gunmen protecting a village in Mexico from maurauding bandits. The film has a large and impressive list of cast members, including Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn and James Coburn, among others. I was surprised to learn that it was a remake of the 1954 film "Seven Samurai".
6. 6 D of S

Answer: Six Degrees of Separation

This is a 1993 film adapted from a play by John Guare. It stars Stockard Channing and Donald Sutherland as a pair of upper crust New Yorkers, and Will Smith as a conman who turns up on their doorstep, injured and bleeding, late one night - something, it turns out, he has a habit of doing to many other wealthy people.
7. 28 D Later

Answer: 28 Days Later

This gruesome film is a 2002 horror film, full of zombies and the like. A virus which sets off uncontrollable rage is released into society with devastating consequences, with four survivors left struggling to survive. Just what you need to watch following a family argument on the hottest day of summer.

It stars Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Megan Burns, Christopher Eccleston and Brendan Gleeson.
8. The W 9 Y

Answer: The Whole Nine Yards

This is a really funny movie released in 2000 and stars Bruce Willis, Matthew Perry, Amanda Peet, Natasha Henstridge, Michael Clark Duncan, Kevin Pollack and Rosanna Arquette. A gangster, Jimmy "The Tulip" (Bruce Willis) on the run from his colleagues, moves into a mansion next to that owned by bumbling, good-hearted dentist (Matthew Perry) - and mayhem ensues.

It really is very funny and if you haven't seen it, then you really should sometime if you can.
9. 10 T I H About Y

Answer: 10 Things I Hate About You

Based on Shakespeare's play "The Taming of the Shrew", this film is a 1999 romantic comedy starring Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Larisa Oleynik, David Krumholtz, Andrew Keegan and Larry Miller. I wonder what Shakespeare would have made of it?
10. The 39 S

Answer: The 39 Steps

A remake of the 1935 Hitchcock film of the same name, this 1959 thriller, directed by Ralph Thomas, stars Kenneth More and Taina Elg. The story is that of a diplomat accidentally becoming involved in the murder of a British spy - and how he attempts to complete that spy's work at the same time he is on the run from authorities.
