Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What's Cillian Murphy's character's FULL name?

Answer: Jackson Rippner

At the airport bar, Lisa asks if Jackson goes by Jack, and he says no, because his last name is Rippner. It takes her a few seconds, but she soon understands: "Jack Rippner. Jack...the...oh." Wes Craven and Cillian Murphy were initially worried that Murphy would not be able to cover his thick Irish accent, but by his second interview he was already able to sound American.
2. Why does Cynthia call Lisa in the beginning of the movie?

Answer: She's having trouble checking in some guests

Terry Press, who played Marianne Taylor, the angry guest, was simply an executive Wes Craven met at one of the meetings about the movie. He thought she'd be perfect for the role, and she agreed to do the part. In the commentary Wes Craven points out several people who have small parts in the movie who are actually a part of the crew.
3. Lisa's grandmother just died at the age of 91. What was the secret to her health?

Answer: Grapenuts and a guy named Duke

Henrietta said the Grapenuts kept her arteries clean...and Duke helped with the rest. Considering that we never meet the character - and that she's dead for the entire movie - Henrietta plays a very large role in the plot. Lisa's middle name is Henrietta.

She's also the reason most of the movie takes place on an airplane; the plan had to be changed when Henrietta died suddenly and Lisa flew to Texas for the funeral.
4. What's the little girl's name who is flying by herself for the first time?

Answer: Rebecca

Rebecca is one of several passengers we meet early in the movie, who become unknowingly involved in the drama between Jack and Lisa as the flight progresses. The woman in the green coat who plays her mother is a part of Craven's film team; she was a bit scared to actually go on screen, but he was able to convince her to do the cameo.
5. Does Lisa get the Keefes' room changed the first time she calls Cynthia?

Answer: No, the phone cuts out before Lisa can ask

The turbulence that delayed so many flights at the airport is an ongoing problem throughout the plane ride. Just before Lisa tells Cynthia what to do, the phones stop working - probably because the plane is going through turbulence. The phones come back on later, after they fly above the rough weather. Lisa does a pretty good job pretending the phone is still working; if not for the man across the aisle (who was also in the middle of a phone call), Jack might not have noticed.

When the phone disconnects, all sound in the movie cuts off for a second as well, to emphasize to the audience what just happened.
6. Jack has been following Lisa for eight weeks now. What hasn't he observed her doing?

Answer: Going on dates with her steady boyfriend

He wonders why she doesn't go out more, what happened to make her pull away from social situations. Later she tells him she was attacked in the parking lot of the hotel two years ago. He thinks she's finally opening up to him; in reality she's distracting him so she can get away from him and off the plane.
7. We meet several passengers over the course of the movie who play minor roles in the climatic chase scene. Who does not get involved?

Answer: The nice older lady from the Dallas airport line

The angry guy from Dallas is a doctor - and tells Jack he'll be ok, even after being stabbed in the throat with a pen (the writers needed a doctor to give Jack permission to be running around after her later; they realized they could bring back the angry man from earlier, to make it funnier).

The little girl, Rebecca, shoves her bag into the aisle, tripping Jack as he passes. The blond who flirted with Jack yells that Lisa stabbed him; later Jack steals her scarf to cover the hole in his neck.
8. How does Lisa get from the airport to her dad's house?

Answer: She steals a car

Some poor guy is dropping someone off, and leaves his SUV running in front of the airport. Lisa strolls out and gets right in, driving off even though the owner is standing right there. Since this car later gets shot up and driven into the front of a house, she may have to settle up with that guy after the movie...
9. At her dad's house, Jack is chasing Lisa with a knife (a twelve inch Ka-Bar). She eventually finds the other man's gun, but before that, what is her weapon of choice?

Answer: A field hockey stick

Jack's biggest mistake in following her is bringing the fight to her home territory. During the whole fight scene in the house, Lisa often gains the advantage by knowing exactly where everything is and how the house is set up. (For instance, she finds the field hockey stick in the closet without even having to look.) She is also very good at improvisation, using a vase, a fire extinguisher, a chair and a high heel as weapons as well.
10. What are Lisa and Cynthia going to do as the movie ends?

Answer: Open the bar

After she's told off the Taylors (the angry guests), Lisa suggests opening the bar. Cynthia asks if she wants champagne, and Lisa replies, "Anything but a bay breeze." the last line of the movie. Wes Craven said that after everything, he knew he had to get Lisa and Cynthia together in the end of the movie if he could. Cynthia also has one of my favorite lines in this scene, when Lisa asks if she's ok: "Yeah, I mean...I think we had a really good night, all things considered. Just - that one incident, really."
