"Slither" Part 3 Trivia Quiz

The baby slugs take control of human bodies by attaching to the brain stem of their host. When fully attached, the human essentially becomes a 'zombie', except for the fact that it still has a mind. It is Grant's personality that we find familiar in these zombies, however their will is that of the alien.
Kylie manages to pull the slug out of her mouth before it fully attaches itself, but during its attempt, she has a vision of where the alien came from and what it plans to do.

Director James Gunn offered the part of Shelby to Jenna Fischer as a birthday present. Gunn and Fischer were married in October, 2000. Jenna Fischer is most widely known for her part as Pam Beesly in NBC's hit sitcom, "The Office".

Answer: There's no Mr. Pibb.

Jack has completely lost it by now. He's running away from slithery little slugs that try to get in your mouth, zombies that used to be friends but now spit acid at you, and he hasn't had a chance to do any deer hunting. It's an all-around disaster, and Jack can't handle it. When he finds that there was no Mr. Pibb packed for him, he freaks out.

Answer: "It's family fun day."

Earlier in the day, the family talks about family fun day, and Kylie is not very excited about it. Now, her whole family is infected, and they're trying to get Kylie to join in the "fun". This is actually a plot hole. When the slugs take over the townspeoples' bodies, the only personality they possess is Grant's, because he is the original host.

In this scene, Kylie's family members still possess their own personalities. "Slither" zombies are unique because of the fact that they do still have a personality. REAL zombies have no will or function other than to feed on human brains. Trust me, I know.

Answer: Her headset

As far as the audience knows, Shelby wears her headset as if it is a part of her body. In the special features, Jenna Fischer explains that in her time as a receptionist, she would simply disconnect her headset from the phone if she had to leave her desk.

Answer: Deer Cheer

The whole movie is set around this special time of the year. The Deer Cheer is the big kickoff for deer hunting in the area. It is at the Deer Cheer that Bill first attempts to flirt with Starla, when her husband Grant fails to show up.

Answer: Her hairbrush

Starla gets knocked out and is taken home by a bunch of zombies because they all possess Grant's personality. Grant still loves her and wants to take care of her, and the zombies create a little shrine for her in the bedroom. When she wakes up, she hides her hairbrush in the side of her underwear. The hairbrush has a pointed handle, which she uses to stab Grant.

Answer: A propane tank

Grant, the Super-Squid, tries to pump two tentacles into Bill's stomach, but he gets a hold on one of them. He plugs that tentacle into a nearby propane tank, which is used to blow up Grant. Luckily for Bill, that second tentacle doesn't get him because both of them need to pump into him in order to impregnate him with baby slugs.

Answer: A cat gets shot with a dart from an alien worm.

If you hang out long enough to see this clip, you see the original worm shoot the cat with its dart. This worm-dart took over Grant in the beginning, so theoretically, the cat will be the new monster.

Lloyd Kaufman is the president of Troma Films. Director James Gunn got his start as an actor, writer, and director in "Tromeo and Juliet" in 1996. Kaufman's Troma Films is known for their horror-comedies, which are packed full of tasteless humor, and excessive low budget special effects.

Despite the low budget, Troma has a huge following and has distributed over 1000 films. Kaufman had one line in "Slither", but it was cut in the final editing of the film.
