Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the opening scene of the "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut" film, which one of the boys is the first to start singing?

Answer: Stan

The film begins immediately with the song "Mountain Town", which is performed by several main characters of "South Park" like the four children and some of their parents. Stan is the first character to appear as he sings about his "quiet mountain town".

Then, we see Stan and Kenny asking their parents for their permission to watch a Canadian movie, while Cartman doesn't even need to ask. Knowing that his mom would never let him go, Kyle lies to her and tells her he's going ice skating. The song takes up the first four minutes of the movie and concludes with the boys unsuccessfully trying to get into the "Terrance and Phillip" movie because they didn't come with a parent or guardian.
2. Which of the four boys is the only one to have food (not including drinks) with him inside the theater when they first watch the "Terrance and Phillip" movie?

Answer: Cartman

The boys are denied entry to the movie because of its "naughty language", but they still figure out a way to watch it by paying a homeless man $10 to come into the theater with them. Kyle's little brother, Ike, also makes it into the theater with the four boys. While Stan and Kyle only have drinks with them, Cartman came into the theater with a chocolate bar, popcorn, and mini-cakes. Kyle asked Eric to share some candy with him, but the latter refused by saying he didn't have "any Jewish candy".

The first joke from the "Terrance and Phillip" movie involves Phillip asking "what did the Spanish priest say to the Iranian gynecologist?" Of course, like most other "Terrance and Phillip" jokes, the punchline comes down to a fart. The children are entertained but also shocked by all the crass language used in the film. By the end of the movie, most of the people in attendance have left in disgust. However, the boys seemed to have enjoyed it and leave the theater constantly repeating the bad words they learned from the film. One of the attendees remarks that they expected the movie to be "garbage" because it was of Canadian origin.
3. What does Stan do when he speaks to Wendy at the ice skating pond, right after watching the "Terrance and Phillip" movie?

Answer: Vomits on her

Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny meet their friends at an ice skating pond. They brag about being able to watch the "Terrance and Phillip" movie as they freely use curse words to speak to their friends. As Kyle explains that his brother Ike is Canadian like Terrance and Phillip, Stan sings about how Wendy "gives him butterflies" and "makes his stomach queasy". When Wendy greets Stan, he pukes all over her, something that would become a running gag in the "South Park" TV show. Another kid called Gregory, who claims to have obtained a 4.0 GPA at his previous school, interrupts and whisks Wendy away from Stan.

The next morning at South Park Elementary, many of the children in the class have watched the "Terrance and Phillip" movie and are singing its profanity-filled lyrics. As the children sing, we get to see some of the decorations that Mr. Garrison has presumably set up in the classroom: pictures drawn by the children of life on other planets, a series of numbers, a picture of a fish, and a picture of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
4. The "World News" report invites an "outraged mother" from South Park to discuss the "Terrance and Phillip" movie. Who is this person?

Answer: Sheila Broflovski, Kyle's mom

A "World News" report focuses on the "Terrance and Phillip" R-rated movie and its box-office success. The special report also explores whether the movie is "destroying American youth". The news report further explains that the controversy surrounding the "Terrance and Phillip" film began in the small Colorado town of South Park. The newscaster describes how that town's local PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is trying to ban the movie. He then interviews the PTA's head, Sheila Broflovski along with the Canadian Minister of Movies.

Sheila Broflovski is Kyle's mom. She is married to lawyer Gerald Broflovski, and they both are proud to be Jewish. The family also has an adopted child from Canada called Ike. Sheila is often depicted as someone who gets easily offended, exclaiming her signature phrase "What, what, what?!" She is revealed to originally hail from New Jersey in a "South Park" episode.

Cartman, or any of the boys for that matter, didn't seem to understand the problem with repeating the curse words they heard in the "Asses of Fire" movie. The boys are sent to Mr. Mackey's office, and when their mothers get there, Kyle tries to hide where they heard the bad words. However, Cartman instantly reveals the truth. Sheila is especially upset with the news and says that "Terrance and Phillip" is "nothing but foul language and toilet humor". This appears to be a reference to criticism Parker and Stone have themselves received about "South Park".
5. During the "World News" debate between the Canadian Minister of Movies and an outraged South Park mother, what does the Canadian keep repeating while being consistently interrupted?

Answer: "Can I finish?"

The host of "World News" invites the Canadian Minister of Movies and Sheila Broflovski (head of South Park's PTA) to discuss the "Terrance and Phillip" movie. The government official starts explaining that the film is not intended for children, but Sheila interrupts him by saying children will see it anyway.

This is the first time that the minister asks: "Can I finish?" He then expresses Canada's surprise at the outrage caused by the film, followed by another interruption and the minister again saying "Can I finish?" Then, the Minister of Movies points out that American television is full of graphic violence so foul language shouldn't be this controversial.

Sheila yells, "Because it's evil!" Finally, an exasperated minister exclaims, "Can I finish? Please, can I finish?" only to say "Okay, I'm finished" seconds later.
6. Which of these musicians, known for his song "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You", is spoken about as a "troublesome thing to come out of Canada" during a news report?

Answer: Bryan Adams

The newscaster presses the Canadian Minister of Movies by saying the movie was not the "first troublesome thing to come out of Canada", citing Bryan Adams as an example. The politician does not take offense, but rather, admits that the Canadian government has apologized for Adams several times. Sheila then insults Canadians' "beady little eyes and flapping heads" (a reference to how Canadians are depicted in the "South Park" universe), a remark that the minister finds racist.

Bryan Adams was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 1959. Adams is a well-known singer and songwriter whose famous works include "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You", "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?" and "Please Forgive Me". He received the Order of British Columbia distinction in 1990.
7. How does Kenny get injured in the "South Park" movie, after the boys watch the "Terrance and Phillip" film for the second time?

Answer: Lights himself on fire

Kenny dying in almost every "South Park" episode is one of the show's best-known running gags. The creators have explored dozens of different ways for Kenny to die, including being shot, abducted, crushed, trampled, drowned, struck by lightning, and falling into a volcano.

In the movie, Kenny gets injured right after the children watch the "Terrance and Phillip" movie again. Cartman bets with Kenny that he can't light one of his farts on fire. Kenny does so successfully but then catches on fire as the other children panic. An ambulance drives by but is hit from behind by a truck of salt.

The salt falls on an already-suffering Kenny. Stan then exclaims, "Oh my God! You killed Kenny!" Apparently oblivious to what just happened, Cartman calmly admits that apparently you *can* light a fart on fire.
8. Which group of people are visibly more panicked and upset when Kenny is brought to the hospital, the children or the doctors?

Answer: The doctors

Kenny is rushed to the hospital after what happened to him outside the movie theater. When he is stretchered into the facility, we see a schedule listing all of the day's procedures that are to take place at the hospital. A sign on the wall humorously read: "all employees must wash hands before surgery".

The doctors appear to be in even more of a panic than Kenny's friends, who are watching the doctors try to save Kenny in a bizarre manner. Kenny eventually wakes up from surgery to the news that his heart was accidentally replaced by a baked potato and he would have seconds to live. Sure enough, Kenny explodes right after this, splattering blood all over the room. Stan and Kyle then exclaim, "Oh my God! They killed Kenny!" Cartman, in the meantime, is relieved that he doesn't have to pay Kenny for their bet.
9. Which of these famous Indian personalities does Kenny see on his way to hell?

Answer: Mahatma Gandhi

The boys leave the hospital as their mothers tell them they are all grounded. Meanwhile, Kenny (or his soul, theoretically) begins his journey to heaven. As the song "Hell Isn't Good", performed by Metallica's James Hetfield, plays in the background, Kenny tries to access heaven but finds his access denied. He instead falls into hell, which apparently has a much larger population. We then see Kenny being violently thrown around by scary skeletons, some of which had the faces of Adolf Hitler, George Burns, and for some reason, Mahatma Gandhi.

Mahatma Gandhi is one of the most influential people in India's history. Gandhi famously led nonviolent protests that largely resulted in liberating India from Great Britain. He was assassinated in 1948 by a Hindu nationalist.
10. Who is in charge of babysitting Stan, Kyle, and Cartman after they are grounded by their parents?

Answer: Shelley Marsh

Outraged by what they think is happening to their children as a consequence of the "Terrance and Phillip" movie, the parents of South Park meet to discuss what actions they will take. Sheila declares that "this is what happens when toilet humor is allowed to run rampant". She then begins to sing the "Blame Canada" song, which has lyrics that argue that the country of Canada is responsible for every negative change that their kids have gone through.

Shelley Marsh is Stan's older sister. The character is based on Trey Parker's real-life sister of the same name. Some sources also spell her name as "Shelly", and both are considered correct. The children's mothers are all organizing their protest, which is why Shelley is babysitting them. After the "Mothers Against Canada" organization is created, Shelley tells Stan, Kyle, and Cartman that she was put in charge of them and they weren't allowed to have any fun. Shelley then breaks a wooden chair into Stan's head and then goes away to listen to music by Britney Spears.
