Lady Tremaine seemed nice at first and restored laughter and other fun activities to the household. However, once Cinderella's father died, she showed her true colors and forced Cinderella to be a maid in her own home. Midway through the movie, Cinderella put on a pink dress that was her mother's and said she wanted to go to the Ball since all eligible maidens were invited. Lady Tremaine tore up part of Cinderella's dress, which left her devastated.

Carter, born in 1966 in Golders Green, London, England, United Kingdom landed the role of the Fairy Godmother. Throughout the film, the Fairy Godmother served as the narrator. In a pivotal scene, she arrived when Cinderella was distraught, after Lady Tremaine ripped her dress.

She told her to cheer up and started making some transformations to get Cinderella ready for the ball. One such transformation was making a small pumpkin into a pumpkin coach that would be capable of transporting her to the ball.

The Fairy Godmother advised Cinderella that, at the stroke of midnight, the magic would expire and everything would be as it was before. Carter was cast in roles for the films "Fight Club", "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" and "A Room With a View".

In 2011, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the movie "The King's Speech" but lost to Melissa Leo for "The Fighter".

Drizella and Anastasia attended the ball in hideous gowns and Lady Tremaine hoped both of them would catch the Prince's eye but neither one did.

After the sisters returned home from the ball, they both laughed at how Cinderella claimed she went outside in the rain. McShera had guest starring appearances on the TV shows "Downton Abbey", "Inside No. 9" and "Galavant".
