Paul Daniel "Ace" Frehley was born on April 27, 1951, in New York City, U.S. Ace was the original lead guitarist and founder of the band Kiss with Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss. The band formed in New York in 1973.

Ace Frehley was a member of the band from 1972 until 1982. Frehley then started up his own band called Frehley's Comet. The American rock band was active between 1984 and 1988 and released two studio albums called "Frehley's Comet" (1987) and "Second Sighting" (1988). Frehley then left the band in 1989 to release his solo album, "Trouble Walkin', (1989). In 1996, Frehley rejoined Kiss for a reunion tour. He stayed with the band until 2002 and then went back to a solo career. As a solo artist, Frehley has recorded nine studio albums, the last being "Origins Vol. 3" (2025).

"King" was released on 3 February 2015 in record form and as a digital download on 1 March 2015. The song charted in several countries. Years & Years were a dance-pop/synth-pop/house band. The band formed in 2010 originally with five members: Olly Alexander, Mikey Goldsworthy, Emre Türkmen, Noel Leeman, and Olivier Subria. Noel Leeman and Olivier Subria left the band in 2013.

In 2018 the band released their second studio album, "Palo Santo.". The album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and topped the chart on the US Top Dance/Electronic Albums (Billboard). The final album from the band was called "Night Call," released in January 2022. The album topped the UK Albums Chart and reached number five on the US Top Dance/Electronic Albums (Billboard).

They disbanded in 2023. The lead singer, Olly Alexander, went on to have an excellent solo career and starred in a UK TV drama series, "It's a Sin" (2021). He also represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024, but we don't talk about that!

The Smiths were a band from Manchester between 1982 and 1987. Members of the band were Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke, and Mike Joyce. "The Queen Is Dead" is a track taken from the band's third studio album of the same name, recorded in 1985 and released in 1986. The song was released as a single in 2017. The song was written by Morrissey and Johnny Marr. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and reached number 70 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums.

When the single was released, it caused a bit of controversy because of its anti-monarchist theme. Some of the music magazines were not too impressed. Mind you, bad press sometimes gives songs and albums a boost.

"Jack & Diane" was written by John Mellencamp, although at the time he was performing as John Cougar. The song was a number one hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 and also topped the charts on the Canadian Top Singles Chart.

The turning point for the artist was with his fifth studio album "American Fool", which topped the charts on the US Billboard 200. In the UK, the album only reached number 37. John Mellencamp never had the commercial success he hoped for in the UK market, however he had several top ten hits on the US albums charts.

Jewel Kilcher was born on May 23, 1974, in Payson, Utah, U.S. To be honest, I'd never heard of Jewel until I did the research for this quiz. Jewel has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and has been nominated for four Grammy Awards.

The country song "Ten" was released on September 13, 2010. The song peaked at number 51 on the US Hot Country Songs (Billboard). The song was written by Jewel and Dave Berg, an American country music songwriter, and the label was Valory Music Group. "Ten" was also on her second country album, "Sweet and Wild", which peaked at number three on the US Billboard Top Country Albums Chart.

Accorded to Jewel, the song is about a row she had with her husband and how she had to count up to ten before she lost control.

"The Joker" was recorded by the American band Steve Miller Band. The song was released in 1973 on the Capitol label. "The Joker" reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1974. In 1990 the song was used in a Levi's advert on British TV and topped the charts on the UK Singles Chart.

"The Joker" was also the title of the band's eighth album. The album was a mix of live recordings and songs recorded in the studio. Released in the same year as the single, the album peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200.

Steve Miller is the only original member of the Steve Miller Band and, as such, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

Kelsea Ballerini was born on September 12, 1993, in Mascot, Tennessee, U.S. The song "Club" was released on November 8, 2019. The single was used to promote her third studio album. "Kelsea" was a commercial success, reaching number two on the US Independent Albums (Billboard) and number six on the UK Independent Albums Chart.

Kelsea Ballerini wrote all the tracks for the album, with additional input from several co-writers. "Club" was written in a joint effort between Kelsea, Nicolle Galyon, and Jimmy Robbins. As with her previous two albums, they were released on the Black River label. Four other tracks from the album were released as singles. "Homecoming Queen," released in 2019; "The Other Girl," 2020; "Hole in the Bottle," 2020; and "Half of My Hometown," 2021.

Ian Fraser Kilmister (Lemmy) was the lead singer and founder of the band Motörhead. One of the best-known songs from the band was "Ace of Spades," which was released in 1980. "Ace of Spades", was also the fourth studio album from Motorhead. The song first came out as a vinyl 7" single to promote the album, but later a 12" recording was made available. Personnel on the song were Lemmy-bass, vocals; "Fast" Eddie Clarke-guitars; and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor-drums.

Before Motörhead was formed, Lemmy was in the band Hawkwind. His role in the band was a mixture of a bassist, guitarist, and vocalist (1971-1975).

Enya is an Irish singer and composer. She was born on 17 May 1961, in Dore, Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland. Enya used to be a member of the Irish band Clannad, a Celtic folk band, before going solo. The reference to "Diamonds" is a track titled "Diamonds on the Water" from the album, "Dark Sky Island," which was released on 20 November 2015. The album was a huge success for Enya, reaching the top ten in several countries.

All the musical arrangements were by Enya, and the lyrics were written by Roma Ryan; all songs were produced by Nicky Ryan. A well-known song from Enya you may have heard of is the track "Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)" (1988); it was a top ten hit in several countries. The track was taken from her second studio album, "Watermark," released in 1988.

Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly were the songwriters for the song "Alone.". The pair recorded under the name of i-Ten. The song was on their one-off album called "Taking a Cold Look," released in 1983. The album was just a project, and soon after it was finished and released, the duo disbanded.

The version by Heart was the first song released from their ninth album, "Bad Animals," in 1987. In my opinion, this has to be the best song from Heart, a very powerful ballad sung by Ann Wilson with Nancy Wilson, Howard Leese, Mark Andes, and Denny Carmassi banging out the tunes. The song starts off with a piano and builds up and builds up to an amazing piece of music.

The single was also a top ten hit in several counties. "Bad Animals" reached number two on the US Billboard 200 and number seven on the UK Albums Chart.
