"Ragdoll" was a number one hit in both the U.S. and England. So popular was the melody that it was remade in 1967 by the English band The Tremeloes. In 1988 the American hard rock group released a song with the same name but different lyrics and melody. What can I say...my cousin, the rag doll, is very popular!

The song is listed in the Grammy Hall of Fame and the single sold over ten million copies world-wide. Aunt Hildegaard said the tribute was wonderful, it gave her the big head, and she started to try and argue that she was actually three-dimensional. Which, owing to the fact that paper does have thickness, albeit not much, I guess that she is correct.

Since I was doing a quiz on card games songs, I had to work in my favorite game. There aren't very many bridge references in songs. I found a play titled "Johnny No Trump" but unfortunately it was not a musical, and I found several bridge terms in songs (grand slam, vulnerable) that were not bridge terms in the contexts used.

"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" was a children's musical based on novelist Ian Fleming's novel of the same name. One of the characters is named Truly Scrumptious and while singing this song she is on a pedestal dressed as a music box dancer. It is a lamentation about her rigidness and the facade behind which she hides. It does remind me of my family member.
