2. With the sixties coming to an end and flower power slowly fading, Status Quo decided on a revamp of image. This song was released in February 1976 when the weather was decidedly chilly. Later in the year, the United Kingdom was to experience a very long hot summer, with the heatwave lasting months, causing water shortages.
With the line "Now I can live without the rain", little did they know how prophetic that was.
4. On July 13th, 1985 the worldwide phenomenon Live Aid began. It started at 12 noon, the first band to play was Status Quo. They started off the concert with a rip roaring performance of their anthem "Rockin' All Over the World". But do you know who wrote the song ?

5. Although Status Quo have had a string of hits, which was the only track that made it to number one in the UK ?

Though they have had a string of hits in over 40 years of rocking, "Down Down" was their only number one in their own right. It topped the charts in 1974.
They did get to number one again, this time with the Manchester United football club. The song was "Come on you Reds".

7. Status Quo collaborated with the legendary US group The Beach Boys. Little did they know what a storm of controversy would follow their track. Can you name the track ?

Answer: Fun, Fun, Fun

The controversy was that BBC bosses at Radio One refused to have it on any of their play lists. Despite the lack of airplay it still made it to number 24 in the UK Charts.
This version of the song was also unique as Mike Love of the Beach Boys wrote and sang a whole new verse written just for this track.
The reason was to make the track longer, so that the Quo could add their touch to it.
